Re: Z06

I want to see Shaun's (finished) car up against the new Z06.

Based on the old times - the Z06 should be able to mosey down the track a tad quicker.

Re: Z06

A few guys have had their z's dynoed. Average stock is between 450-460 RWHP, torque is around 415. LG motosports put a set of their long tube headers on and got 483 RWHP and 469 RWT. THats stock tune as its a new computer and theres no software for it yet. So 500 RWHP is easily obtained.
I have not yet read a bad report on this car from all the guys that have gotten theirs.
The only one was a guy that is trying to get GM to repaint his black Z due to bad paint.Apparently GM offered to take the Z back and replace it with a new one.
As far as Power,Handling and overall appeal everybody says its awesome.

Re: Z06

Wow.........that's crazy that it's a "write off" due to bad paint.

I would just assume that somthing like that could be fixed..........and for less than an additional 80 grand.

Re: Z06

Well, the Z is in town. Now we're trying to get it out of Anacis Island. If the dealer can find it on Monday, they'll flatdeck it to the Dealer for the PDI. I may still get it by Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning.

Re: Z06

sweet!!!

I would want to be there for the PDI so the lot boy doesnt go and beat your car before you can...My friend did that with his 03 Cobra because it was the first one sold at Cam Clark.

Re: Z06

I can see the headlines on the front page of some dirty little Nevada town's news paper....

"Canadian man caught doing 185mph on open Nevada highway and was arrested"

"in an exclusive interview, he said he didn't regret a minute of it!"

have fun for the rest of us!!! I know I would!

Re: Z06

Well we got back Tuesday night from Vegas. This car is a blast, it is all they said it would be and more.
I picked the Z up on Tuesday Oct 25 and got out of the dealership around noon and we left for Vegas around 2 PM.
I tried, but I really cant find any fault with this car. The power level is incredible, doesn't matter what gear you are in. It will roast the tires at will.
In first gear more than half throttle will spin the tires and try to whip the tail around although active handling comes on and generally saves your butt.
I did the 500 mile breakin thingy, up and down in speed, change gears for different RPM etc. After the first 500, I did the triple digit thing a few times when my radar detector felt it was safe. I got up to around 125 MPH and it feels no different than 60 MPH. Hell on the way back through Nevada my wife was driving and I asked her,how fast she was going and she was cruising at 100 MPH.
In Vegas I met up with a guy I met on the Internet, He had also just gotten a Yellow Z.abnd we went fir a cruise and took a bunch of pictures(ZO6Vette.com - Vegas ZO6 meets Canadian ZO6) and did a bunch of Vette talking.
Anyways this is probably one of the most complete performance cars I've owned, and I've owned a bunch.
Gas mileage is incredible, with all the different types of driving and goofing around we got 22.8 miles per US Gallon.

Anyways I've gabbed long enough.
