Thumbs down You'll get a fine for washing your car?!

AHHH WTF. Vancouver rains sooo much!! Just cause we didn't rain for 2 months, we all of a sudden have a shortage?! I went by my HS last night to do a little off-roading with my buddy's Jeep () and my HS has big ****in 50 feet sprinklers shooting out GALLONS per SECOND then I can't wash my car
They should make an exception for people with dark colored cars. I have to go back to school tomorrow (tuesday) and there's going to be ALOT of new hotties....how am i goin' to get any lovin' if the car's all dirty
Before you make any VW jokes, girls like my car
But arghhh stupid ****ing shortage, how does California manage?! it NEVER rains there

I went almost two weeks without washing my car and that was long enough. They said on the news that the GVRD will give a warning the first time followed by a $75.00 fine for the second offence. I have a policeman living a couple of houses down from me and he hand hoses his lawn everyday. My neighbors have lots of flower beds too and they water like crazy. I'm a bachelor with no plants therefore I never water. So I'll take my warning and pay the fine if I have too. I do my bit by not leaving the tap running. Bring on the water meters and we'll see who uses up the most water, not me.

Do some research before you bitch.

Vancouver has about 30 days of water supply left, and there is no rain in sight. Even if it does rain once or twice, that won't come close to filling the reservoirs

Have you seen what water shortages do to people in Africa? Maybe it would be good for us to run out of water here so people can see what it's like in other parts of the world where it is a fact of life.

Cry me a river - you should see how dirty my car is, but I refuse to wash it to do my part.

As for California, it manages by tapping into one of the longest rivers in world, which flows into one of the largest reservoirs in the world. Our reservoirs are but puddles in comparison to Lake Mead and Cleveland dam is about 1/10th the size of Hoover.

If you have a nozzle on your hose and you do it at night you can do it all in one shot . Soap her up and rinse her down . It takes almost no water .

Ill buy bottled water if I have to . I beleive companys that make money doing it are still legal arent they . For like 1 $ you can bring your own bucket to one of those places with the pressure hoses and do it in one shot too . My neigbours wash there cars on there lawn .

on a second note, i never heard of that b.s. my car goes through the whole winter without getting washed more then 3 times! (stored, not driving) and in the summer it only gets washed on fri. street legals (ive been to 6 so far) so i use way way way less water then everyone else, so i think i deserve to wash my car on the same pattern i usually do

What I find funny is earlier on in the summer they told us that they didn't drain the resivoirs this year becuz of all the excess water and how we would be fine all the way to sept. On the weather network a few interviews were taking place from some hydro workers saying how no one has anything to worry about. Now this?

I'd like to stick my foot up someones ****..

A car wash need not use alot of water.

Wash out of direct sunlight. I do mine in the evening.

A quick spray to get it wet, followed by soap followed by a quick rinse.

Flushing the toilet probably uses more water than I use to wash my car.

This is the driest summer on record. How could they predict that?

I guess everyone is going to have to get some of that "Dry wash n' Gard stuff.

On the other hand, just move to Chilliwack.
I could wash all my vehicles everyday and not get in trouble.

I don't mind you..........

For my camping trip last week we purchased 10 Liters of bottled mineral water for about $5 at the local grocery store. If you purchase bottled water and wash your car with that, I don't see any harm in that...but I bet Draco aka Mr. Greenpeace will .

As a side note, I heard that restaurants may be fined if they serve patrons tap water...meaning that if you eat out and want water, you'll have to buy it bottled. A good idea IMO.

Send me some empty 5 gallon buckets. I'll fill them and send them back to you, postage due.

Just doing my part to help our neighbors up north.

Actually the rule would be for restaurants not to put water out unless the customer asks - they want to save not only the water in the glass, but the water used to wash the glass afterwards.
