Yehaw! its alive again!
Well my front end replace/rebuild and tranny rebuild is complete. Replaced a damaged subframe (some loser slid it into a curb
) with a Z28 one. hotchkis springs (2" drop my ***! more like 3") 1 1/4" swaybar, poly bushings everywhere except for aluminum subframe bushings. All new steering and balljoints. Installed aftermarket bracket for my p/s pump so my car is actually parkable now (high ratio boxes are great... except when you lose your pump... then they suck). Going to have to watch out for over correcting now that I have p/s again. Rebuilt my SuperT10 tranny with backcut sleeves (makes powershifting easier
) and a steel rear bearing retainer. 3rd gear has a slight whine, hopefully that will wear in. Its not bad, sounds like a muncie is all
. New centerforce dualfriction clutch which I havent really tested yet (I highly doubt it will slip like my last one).
And a bunch of other small "while I have the car apart I may as well" things. My wallet was as busy as a surrey girl on a saturday night for the past few weeks. Its all wore out. I have just enough play $$$ left for an alignment and front tires/rims. Man the front of my car is low now, looks like a funny car. Next project: install the 4.56 eaton posi rear end with new springs
. Then I will really get to see how well I rebuilt the tranny *cringe*. I cant see any reason why I wont be at the meeting with my ugly old camaro. See ya then.
