One of my buddies had one years ago, a 6.6 litre but I wasn't really impressed with the power or handling, a real gas guzzler too. I'd think twice before searching for this rare bird. If I wanted an old bird I'd search for a 69 bird.

Good luck I want one too

Hey drum , I beleive the 89 turbo transam had the buick regal 6 cyl turbo motor in it , the only year the TA was faster than the vette off the showroom floor. . . .low 13's stock err something. . . very collectable.

There used to be one by my house. I don't know if it's still there as I no longer take that alley route, but I have a feeling an old lady drives it, and it appears to be in excellent condition.
I thought it was just a regular GTA before seeing the "turbo" badge on the back and going woah .

That was a 70's car I believe. The one this guy is looking for has the Grand National engine in it.

That is a very rare car. I don't think I've ever seen one. That would be an awesome ride!

Oops, I'm thinking of the 79-81 TA's, my bad this early in the morning. This 89 turbo ta does sound nice, I've never seen one, I wonder what the production numbers are? Sounds like another custom order car like the hawk.

Yeah, the one you are thinking of Drum is the 1979 10th Anniversary car, available either with the Olds 403 or the Pontiac 400 engines. One of those would be nice, but not what I'm after at the moment.

Mr00Jimbo, if you drive by that ladies house, see if the car is still there. I'd be interested in knowing where she lives, so I could leave my card, offering to buy the car if she ever decides to sell it.

I know this will be a hard find, as only 1,500 of the 20th Anniversary cars were made, powered by the 3.8 GN Turbo engine, only available in white with a camel interior.

I think you are thinking of the 4.9L 301 Turbo, in the '80 and '81 Turbo Trans Ams.

Anyway guys, keep your eyes & ears open, and if you come across a 1989 Turbo Trans Am, let me know.

Here's one.
Too bad it's in the states...........and so freaking expensive - I guess that's what they're worth.

That one is a new as the day it rolled out of the plant.

Wouldn't be too difficult to get it up here though.

Nice car.

Nope, the anniversary cars had only the 400 Patrick. They saved a few hundred Poncho 400's from the final '78 engine production run. The very last real pontiac V8's ever made.
PS The TA's painted now!
