Widening Rims ????

I need to widen my rims asap to accept some fat *** Nitto's . Right now they are 18 X 9 with 285 35 ZR18's with a 36 mm offset ( 1/2 inch out farther than stock ) . I was thinking if I just squeeze an inch or two outta tha back would be good . Anybody know how much $$$ it costs ?? Hunter ( I think ) was reccomended

There are places that do it. I need to get ahold of one of them.

I am going to have my SS wheels widened to 10.5 so I can get 315s on also

I was at Kurtus Tamez's place today and first off, he's the nicest American out there other than Mike, Bobby and Steve...anyway...he has a set of slicks and skinnies (with rims, nice ones for that matter)for sale in mint condition...I almost drove away with them ...but no dinaro for the camaro

750.00 for everything I think...

Hahha If I bolt on slicks man everything else up the line is going to die My car is making some power now , I just need " some " grip , like 30 % more than the zero I have now so I dont lose control and smack the walls like payam does Maybe Ill just go ahead and order up some stock size drag radils and see how they work . . . I guess the 295's are too fat for 9" wide rims huh ?? I have 285's on there now looks good

Rich , how long is the turn around time on the rims ???

Dave

Green's will widen your rims, they charge about $500 to do two rims, although with chrome rims I would think you will have to have them chromed again.

I've heard good things about Green's as well . They do good work but it can get expensive (~$225/wheel) but it is all quality - when widening rims it is important that you do not jeopardize the structural integrity of the rim.

That doesnt seem to be an unfair price . Now the only thing I am woried about is the effect on the offset . When you widen a 9 " rim about 1 " , does it split the difference or throw the whole 1 " towards the inside . I already have 36 mm positive offset ( 1/2 inch more outwards than stock ) It would seem to me it would all go towards the inside , not a real problem I guess except I cant go 11 " I think this is a project for winter time when I dont mind my car being layed up . . .

Would it not just be more cost affectivbe to sell your rims and buy new ones?
