Who's Going to the Gold Driving Tour tomorrow??
Well I just got back.
I guess the BIG lesson I learned is that having BIG BRAKES is almost as much fun as having big power.
The ride in the Viper was of course fun but quick excelleration and big torgue is not new to me. What WAS a blast was screaming into a turn and then getting on the binders. THAT was cool.
Now I want big **** brakes.
There where not a lot of people there. You only get one run in the Viper, SRT4 and Ram SRT10 - another great experience, throwing that big truck around - but I could run around with the 300C, Mangnum and Crossfire to my hearts content. Those where the only cars I was interested in driving.
The driver of the SRT4 was excellent, he could get the car going in a very good drift and the Viper would hang the end out as well. The SRT4 is certainly a fun car.
It is a BIG operation though. They said that they sometimes get 3000 people a day
There were perhaps 100 whilst I was there. Than God.

I drove the 300C, the Magnum andd the Crossfire, coupe and vert. Those were the only cars that were of interest to me that you were able to drive.
Actually, they also have a little 4X4 course with some hills and berms. I drove a Liberty and a Grand Cherokee on that course.
I was a passenger in the Viper, SRT4 and the SRT10 Ram truck, And NO they definately will not let you drive those. They take you through a course, power through 2 gear in a straight line, left hand sweeper - perhaps get a little drift - and then through an s curve. They DO beat on the cars you will be glad to hear.

i went on thursday and there was no people left after about 2 hrs, i almost got kicked out for taking the jeeps over the hills too fast and over the bumps,
i managed to sneek into the viper 3 times and got a video of one of the runs but the driver took it easy that run not like the fist too where he drifted through the s curves.
i did however get kicked off one of the tracks for turning off the esp (traction control) in the 300c while taking it around the track (all worth it) just wait till you are ready to go home befor you do it. the button is the top right button by the radio.
all in all it was a fun time.
and i do like the SRT10 RAM which is suposed to retail for under 70k cdn. (thats what they told me)
