then you swap in a 5L conversion keep the 4 cyl springs and put drag shocks in it and you'll have a launching beast! lol although its gets pretty hairy driving those things, lite in the *** end. need skills to control one of those while busting moves in it

well, yeah i know i've asked this before. Drop the VW? No. I need something to drive as a daily driver when my Camaro breaks and i dont want to insure my Camaro 365/year.
100 hp VW? Is that what you said? I can't hear you over the rattling of your door panels there
I have thought of selling the VW but it's just not possible and i want to start a project soon as possible but i have to keep the VW as a daily D.

3rd gen camaro as they are dirt cheap and swap in a new motor.

Or
fox body stang as the suspension and engine modifications are everywhere.

You can take either one of these cars and make it mega fast for fairly few bucks. When you start getting into much older cars the body panels and parts are getting more expensive as they are rarer to find.

I may have what you need , I have a fox mustang hatch back shell , black . . . sorta , sitting on pony rims etc . The body has no rust . I was going to use it to build up but Im lazy as hell and I just quit my job where its being stored . 5.0 parts are cheap too . has a sunroof . . . something to tear into for little money .

This 5.0 sounds interesting. So you're saying it has no motor or tranny? What does it need in total?

It had a carbed 5.0 motor and A4 auto tranny , non posi rear in it which I sold to a buddie who loves carbs and auto's and big lumpy cams , he also has the guts to a posi 8.8 on hand to swap in . I was going to get a donar car with big body damage ( 1000.00 $ ) and swap in everything from the fuel injected driveline and upgrade the suspension . Its a shell right now , I put in new pins and bushings in the doors and aligned the back hatch and was getting ready to do the body inside and out . It has a tilt column in it which is nice , sunroof as mentioned and NO RUST or big hits that we could see anywhere so its a sound foundation . The headlamps are new and not yellowed and the taillamps are in great shape .
I would start with the strip down , throw out the stock seats *yuck* and carpet and interior trim . Weld in subframes and a cage and prep / paint up all the inners , build up the suspension and swap in a 8.8 with 4.10's , a t5 and ripper , pick up a nice heads cam and or blower motor from the buy and sell for around 2000 - 3000 ++ $$ . Its an 89 so the dash is plug and play to the pcm from 89 - 91 5.0 I believe which saves alot of work of other year pcm swaps . Let me know if you have any other Q's

Are the ponies chrome or white or just regular?
Also what kind of rubber if any do they sit on?

Anyone will tell you that restoring a vehicle/building a project car requires time, energy, money and dedication. To refresh your memory, here's a thread you posted a couple of weeks ago:

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...threadid=93280

How can you afford to take on a project vehicle if you are asking for donations/jobs/favours/handouts from members on this board??? In my honest opinion, graduate high-school, get a job, get cleaned up and then think about a build-up. The only project you should work on is your life .

Good luck with whatever you decide, but always remember: If you want to make your dreams come true, the first thing that you have to do is wake up.

The pony rims are the factory silver on 3 new tires , 1 bad ( the car had a non posi rear when I got it ) I think the kid burned the tire off after we had agreed to pick it up or something

Well, my car is one piece now and has been for like, 2 weeks
The thing is it's a great car and all but....it doesn't NEED anything...it just chills back...i dont need to change the oil, they do it under warranty; ditto with everything else. I just want something cheap to get my hands on so i can get them dirty and learn the basics to car maintenance. If i buy a cheap car, go out buy a cheap motor and tranny, get some help from some friends and others to put it together, i'll learn how it works, but if i take my VW apart i'm basically screwed because
1.) I need that warranty
2.) I drive it every day and can't afford to lose it

But I still want to have fun with a cheap race car.

There's my reasoning.
If i waited will i was out of high school i wouldn't get the head start on the knowledge i could be learning today. No one wants me working on their cars so I want to get my own and see how stuff works.

A little more on the 85 Mustang that My boss has for sale. I saw the car today & will be taking pics of it tomorrow.

Ok its a 85 LX Mustang 4 banger with 4 speed Manual. T-tops
The car needs a tune up & will be getting on this weekend. (bosses son is in town.)
The car has 185k miles on it & has very little rust on it.

These guys are the Org owners of the car. & the car has been well maintained by a Mechanic.
The only Big problem with the car is that it is silver & the paint has dulled on it so its that Primer grey look

it would make a great car for a young driver or a great project car for someone to throw in a larger engine in it.

They are asking $1200 now or Best offer (& their low is under a grand)
