Whats a good header gasket?

Whats a good header gasket[shorty's on LT-1]?How about the bolts as well?

get some copper gaskets.
i was told to buy 2 sets and double them up so it will seal better

I use Fel Pro. I think the part # is 1406. They aren't copper but I haven't had any problems. THey only cost me 18 CDN

I used aluminum gaskets on my last engine and never had a leak after 4 or 5 re-tightening's of the bolts. I don't seem to be able to find em anymore though. I'll probably go with copper gaskets once the paper gaskets that came with my headers wear out.

Another vote for the Fel-Pro 1406. Have used these on every header change and have never had any problems

love the 1406 .. its the only one i use .. for $18 i dont need to reuse them either .... reusing header gaskets is like reusing a condom

.. i guess if the condom is made out of copper its ok

with fel-pro 1406's you have to make sure you retighten your header bolts as its very critical due to it's alluminum composition, if you do that its an awesome gasket & doesn't make a big mess when removed
