What was your worse speeding tix?

just curious?

my one and only was about 4 years ago when I got caught doing 92 in a 50

Driving up to Kelowna in early July 98 I got my most recent ticket just before Hope. The female RCMP officer stepped right in front of my 95 TA. She must have known that I had decent brakes. I've had worst accidents than tickets.

there was this one time where armen, craig and myself after a nite at portkells and...

oh.... well we didn't get a ticket.... so nevermind :p

My first and only speeding ticket, the day I bought my first car - my Camaro. I got busted for 210 in an 80 zone just outside of Hope :D Fortunatly, tickets were still cheap then and it only cost me $130.

Another guy busted in the Hope area, watch out around there. The worst spots to get pulled over for speeding on the freeway are: Burnaby, Langley, Abbottsford, Hope and Merritt. Anyone else knowing of high radar zones please post them hear for all of our benefit. :thumb:

Yeah, when you come over the Patullo into Surrey, don't ever speed coming off that bridge... there's always cops in the pullout gunning people.

My only ticket was just an 80 in a 60 zone... I was *cough* racing an unmarked police car. :irk: I thought he was trying to cut me off so I floored it. :D

That's my only ticket... it's hard to get tickets when you're in such a slow car :p

SBainsTA Jan 16, 2004 11:18 AM

doing 160km over the Alex Fraser..... $465.00........plus 6 points...........

oldschool Jan 16, 2004 12:00 PM

140km on HWY 1 in Burnaby....got it when tickets where cheap - cost me $145 and 3 points.

The worst ticket I got was Driving with undue care and attention...$345 and 6 points.

I'd rather pay a higher fine than get the points:mad:

One ticket only (photo radar doesn't count ;) )...
70ish in a 50.
I have done some dumb things and I am very lucky I have never been caught.

ianwells100 Jan 16, 2004 01:40 PM

in my 89 stang, before i sold it, i got pulled over doing 100 in a 50 zone... but he didn't give me a ticket  he even shouted at me that i was doing 100, and asked if i was rich (i said no, i'm a uni student, this was in 2nd yr... so 2 yrs ago)... and then he got back in his car, shouted "slow down u idiot" and went...

ok, i have objections being called an idiot, but it beats getting my N at the time taken away

worst ticket... only one, 140 on h-way 99... just got a speeding against posted speed ticket for $150, + the tint ticket of $90 as well... so $240

When I was 16, I lived in Prince Albert, SK. I had 4 other kids in the F*ord Aerostar (BTW, brand new it was a POS), and had dropped off my Dad at the airport in Saskatoon that morning.

After hanging out for a while we headed home. Around Duck Lake we got the great idea of "topping out" the little 4-banger in a loaded down minivan. While the highway there is straighter, flatter, and longer than ANYTHING I've ever seen in MN, MB, AB, BC, ND.... there was 1 hill up ahead.

So there we are, cruising at 158 kpm, when the hill in the distance is now ~100 yards ahead. As we slowed down and came over the 15' "summit"... an RCMP passed us going the other direction. Just freaky timing I guess.

I was SURE he didn't get us on radar and nearly panic-stopped after we saw him (he came into view ~10 feet before we passed eachother, and didn't even have time to flick on his lights). I watched him appear behind us, lights flashing, and gave me aticket for 115kph.

I nearly crapped my pants. :)

Unfortunately I only got 2 more tickets and 1 accident that year so insurance went from $25 a year to... $100. :) Don't EVER try to tell me goverment-based insurance is a crazy idea.

Only had 1 ticket since... that I've been found guilty of. Not bad for 11 years and 150,000 miles of driving. :)

Pandamonkey Jan 16, 2004 07:16 PM

I've actually never had one.
Not that I don't speed - I've just never been pulled over.......

StreamlineZ28 Jan 16, 2004 09:07 PM

$345.00 128 in a 50 zone.
but i got out of one doing 190 on hwy 1 i slowed down from 210

Steve in Seattle Jan 16, 2004 09:21 PM

Now that I think about it... we were doing 148 (and that was after oh... 20 miles or so perfectly FLAT and STRAIGHT at WOT)...

lol... man that Aerostar was a POS. :p
