What years T56 used an external slave cylinder?
Like it says. I am looking for the external clutch slave cylinder that pushes the clutch fork. Not the INternal slave cylinder that pushes directly on the release bearing. Just making plans for my truck.
Thanks.

I think Im looking for a LT1 T56. From what Ive just found out the LS1 use the kind that I dont want. I absolutley do NOT want a hydraulic clutch. They are pure shyte far as I am concerned. I am going to make up a mechanical setup that will still allow me to use a real 12" clutch instead of these girly little Fbody ones
. I have broken 3 clutches in my 70 and it was just a sbc then. Its going to be a rather healthy BBC (possibly blown
) so I think Im gonna need a really strong clutch.
Thanks.

Dude, I don't know much about the advantages of bigger clutches but I think bigger is worse, its bad for drivability, they aren't good for high reving motors as they granade themselves, we can use 11" clutches but again, they suck. The Mcleod is 10's I belive & stock is 10.5. I'm not 100% on that though.
Not much point buying a clutch that can handle high RPM but grenades off the line. Simply put a bigger clutch has more grip and is stronger. It is also more mass to balance so it can come apart at speed. I dont think my engine will ever go over 6000rpm though. Im planning on showing you silly 4th gen guys what a big block can do
. BUddy of mine runs a RX7 road racer. He has just over 500BHP and spins it to 15000rpm. Needless to say he cannot keep a clutch in it. He kills them more often than not. Doesnt finish many races and he is starting to get real pissed.
