what kind of wax do u guys use?
what type of wax do u guys use , i know that zaino is the best but i cant seem to find it anywhere so, thus far i have settled with turttle wax which has seemed to do the job just fine but ,what else does everyone perfer other then zaino?
I know that you want suggestions other than Zaino, but FYI there are several local/national contacts that carry it. I have an email address of some guy in Richmond that sells it:

As for alternate options, I usually went and had a cut polish/wax professionally performed by a detail shop once a year. In between, I used Meguiar's or Mother's detailing products.
Hope that helps

I use Meguir's Gold Class. I asked a friend who happens to own a detail shop and he told me the most important thing is to do it regularly. The difference in longetivity isn't enough to quibble about. I tried both Meguir's professional yellow wax and Gold class on my vette and the Gold class had the richer and better shine. I know alot of people who like Mother's also.
I don't want to come off as ignorant or anything but where can a person in BC get some Zaino and how much is it? All I've ever heard is good talk about it.
Guys have been talking about it for quite a while on this site, I just never gave it a second thought.
Is it a pain to to get? It sounds like there aren't many Zaino dealers in Canada...........

Zaino costs about $50 for your starter set and about $30.00 per year to maintain after that.
Been using it for three years. The ONLY way to go. May cost more but for no other reason then the ease of applying and removing makes it worth the money.

Here's the ballpark prices. You need a polish lock ($15), car polish ($21), and car wash concentrate ($13) to start. A swirl remover ($27) is nice to have if you got dark paint, and this is a non-abrasive type. A gloss enhancer ($16) which comes in a misting spray is good for really good details. The polishes can take awhile to apply and dry, so they offer a "fast curing additive" that help speeds up the process ($31) - but this isn't necessary and I have not bothered with it yet. A good clay bar ($27) is also nice to have as it makes the paint as smooth as a baby's butt (or Pamela Anderson's - your choice). This, altogther, would be a full blown kit and all of it is not necessary. My clay bar has lasted 2 years so far, and will at least last that much longer. The main ones I go through are the polish, car wash, and gloss enhancer. That lasts about a year - but keep in mind I like to do a lot of shows and a lot of polishing, and I keep my car quite spotless - as some people have mentioned to me...
It essentially a layer approach. First clean it. Then apply the polish lock. Then immediately add the polish. Let it sit for a while (till dry). Then wipe. Then, if you want, hit it with the gloss enhancer, and use the polish again. It is recommended that you wait nearly 24 hours between coats to get the best effect.
Also, use only the best 100% cotton towels from a good store like the Bay. Use only name brand stuff like Royal Velvet or Martex. Go on a Bay Day and buy a few towels for $12 each. Stick to the good name brands only - other brands may say they got 100%, but they are full of BS and they'll leave fine scratches all over the car. I found out the hard, frustrating way (tried to use towels from a car shop that SAID 100% cotton, but they defeintely weren't).
Hope this helps.
