Angry Well I am about ready to shave my head and become a monk

This may turn into a rant. Consider yourself warned.
Was just driving to get some parts. Wasnt even pushing it or anything at all. I stop to make a left turn and when I go again I hear a knock, knock, knock, knock etc that didnt stop till I dis-engaged the clutch. I am pretty sure it is the tranny AGAIN!!! I will have to jack it up and find out. I suppose it could also be a bottom end knock (I ****ing hope not) but it seems to be the same problem I had the first time with the tranny (the mainshaft to input shaft bearings failed). Makes you start asking when enough is enough. I am doing things the correct way. I even measured the bellhousing runout to make sure its all fine to make sure that didnt cause any issues. I am not buying made in india parts either. Buying correct parts, and being downright **** about the install. What more can I do? And to top it all off the car is still slow!!! Some where the gods are laughing at me.

After jacking the car up the good news is that my engine sounds as smooth as ever. However, that good news still leave me on the cusp of violence . It sure sounds like the damn bearing in the tranny is NFG again. Now I am at as a loss as to what could be causing this to happen. My runout is OK, my clutch fork and fork ball are new. Just be glad this is a moderated board or your virgin ears would be violated numerous times.

Cory, if you are running a standard tranny, maybe you want to consider switching to a T56

Horrible, Cory just buy a 4th gen, they can be had cheap from the states, don't be lazy, go through what I did & buy a car from the states, you can find some crazy dealz out there.

Point is, there is no point fixing a car like yours since its slower then a Z24 cavalier & guzzels a lot more, I'm starting to feel bad for you already, stop it!

Sorry to hear about all the issues...

I say hang in there a little longer...at least find out what the exact problem is and see if it's worth fixing...you've done so many favours for so many people here, I'm SURE a lot of guys will help out.

Good luck .

Is your case for the trany cracked per chance? Seems like there is movement coming from somewhere putting something in a bind and crapping your bearing out.

I would not do a t56 personally though (not that you are or are not)I would look more into a richmond 5 speed if I was going to spend the money on a diff trany..

Hope you figure it out

Ya ChriSS, kerrisdale speed did a rebuild on it. I am almost positive this is going to be the same issue as the first time. Somehow what is happening is the input and mainshaft are getting hit together which is peening the ends of the rollers. Crank isnt doing it, and the driveshaft isnt too long. I will contact Bud tommorow and go from there. The serious question of taking the engine out and selling the camaro keeps jumping up at me. I spend an extra $20/day or more on fuel alone in the camaro. Not including weekends where I burn probably double, if not triple that. If I sell the camaro and drive beaters I could have my 70 C10 (my baby) done in under 2 years. As for buying a new tranny, LAST time it broke I was pissed that I hadnt just bought a tremec TKO. Now its just silly. My only hope now is that there is no external reason for this to happen, then it will be kerrisdales warranty that pays for it. If it is something external to the tranny I dont know what Im going to do.

As for buying a 4th gen..... there is NO WAY that Im going to buy a car that has a rear gear smaller than my ****. Plus they got no style and they sound like cavaliers with a hole in the muffler .
