Washingtonians and Oregonians

How many of us are here on this board. It seems that the majority of the owners here are from BC

Hey I hear WA has 10x more cops than BC does, literally. This true?

Re: Washingtonians and Oregonians

Dozens of views and only a couple of replies tell the story although the board is slow this time of year. I don't know the population of Vancouver, Washington but the surrounding area of Vancouver, Canada is approaching 2.5 million. Where's all the Seattle and Portland people? This board is mainly red and white without the blue. Also with 10 times the population across the line should equate to 10 times as many cops, especially with all the guns down there.

Dunno, but it maybe true. They had a program called "A thousand stars" this weekend. Which meant that there were an additional 1000 cops out there doing DUI duty. So far there has been lots of DUI arrests all this week end not to mention drug related busts as well as a result of the DUI check stops. I think its good to get the drunks off the street. It isn't near as bad as some places in the world where I have been. Take Finland, no one and I mean no one drives after drinking there. Their laws are such that if you get caught, you are going away for a month from the time they stop you and take you to jail. Not to mention the job that you may loose because your sitting in a jail cell, your p****d off wife, or GF, fines, suspended driving privilages and the money you would loose from not working as well. It's basically automatic, you drink, drive and if you get stopped, your azz is going to jail, as there is no court trials or anything or minimum test levels, its any amount of booze no matter how little it is. If its detectable you are done.. Its done right there when you get stopped..... If we were a little tougher like they are there we wouldn't have the problems we do......at least maybe not.

Re: Washingtonians and Oregonians

Im in Vancouver, wa too.

Speaking of which, TJ i have a question for you, i haven't been able to call or come by the shop so, i was wondering what it would cost to do a dyno run, and then re-jet my carb to get maximum HP out of it,a nd then run it again on the dyno for a final result?

I've been meaning to do this but like i said ive just been busy.

I also have an oil leak at the u-joint, any guesstimate on how much getting that fixed would be?

Re: Washingtonians and Oregonians

there's a bunch of people lurking around OR and WA.. and a bunch of groups..

I'm too lazy to goto any of them, although I met a few various members of groups here and there.

Re: Washingtonians and Oregonians

Lots of us from the 'couv (or PDX metro area) lurking on here I think....looking forward to getting over to see your shop TJ, as soon as the sun comes out again....
10X the # of cops vs. BC? Can't confirm or deny that, but they've sure been saturating the local hiways lately....I-205 bridge & corridor from SR-500 to the border (Oregon that is). All for getting drunks off the road, but do they gotta be there everytime I chirp my tires?
cheers,
Ian
