Want to buy a Plasma from the states...

Looking to buy a nice plasma and like a lot of things in the US this seems like too good a deal to pass up:

In canada:
$2,199.99 (CDN$) (might be able to find it a bit cheaper if i look around)

US Price, Same model: $1,299.99 (USD$)

I would be picking this up and taking it through the boarder myself. I would like to know if anyone knows approximatly what customs will charge for it (duties).

I'm already aware i'll have to pay cdn taxes on it which is fine (still works out WAY cheaper).

Anyone able to help me out?

Hey what model is that/brand, sounds interesting lol you will pay duties I believe 5% or so, plus taxes 13%, I think tax will go down to 12% soon though 5% GST.

http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-e...00000000005702

Thanx for the info, I just didn't want to get slapped with a 20% duty on this by surprise

Yeah you should call the border and find out, but first ask for Mexico/China/Japan it's got to be one of those if it's Panasonic

I called my local goodyear tire for some goodyear F1 All season for he caddy.

$1951 out the door.

Ordered them online with Discount Tire and had thenm installed in Bellingham. Paid the WA state taxes and declared them at the border.

Including half a tank of gas I was parked back in my driveway for less then $1000 CDN

On the TV, I was just talking to a client who is actually a rep for Panasonic here in Canada. He said that the US TV's have a shorter warranty so watch out for that.

of course you could buy it at Costco in the US who warranty EVERYTHING they sell for 12 months.

I'd buy it in the states in a heartbeat.
