usmc, moving lt1 to california

Hi, I was wondering what could I do pass or maybe avoid getting my car smogged. My camaro is registered in Texas. I'll be moving it over here on camp pendelton sometime next week. I currently have hooker long tubes, h pipe with dumps and no cats, 1.6 rockers, cai, and I have a 306 I'd like to install. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank u.

AAA California may be a good place to start asking questions.
I don't know for sure, but I don't think you'll have to smog test
if you don't register it here in CA.

BTW, Thank you for serving.

if you remain a permanent resident of texas it is legal to register your car in texas and you would only be subject to texas requirements.

if you become a california resident you are supposed to register your car in CA and it would have to be smogged. if it was a federal car it only needs to meet federal emissions standards. if it was a CA orginally it would need to meet CA smog requirements.

as for mods i believe that if you register it here they must have CARB stickers.

Don't change the registration unless you are ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED to do so. The headers, dumps, and missing cats would be an issue on the visual inspection that precedes the sniffer test. Even if it is ultimately capable of passing the sniffer, it would never get on the rollers if it doesn't pass the visual.
