U2 ticket scam
U2 ticket scam
Upon reading the newspaper the day before U2 tics went on sale they said this; balcony-$90.00, lower level (club seat)-$160.00, general admission (floor)-$49.00. Okay so I'm ready at 9:25 am to type in as fast as I can to scoop a pair of tickets. My fingers were sweating and my pulse rate rising in anticipation of this mad rush on-line. I'm not greedy nor did I plan to scalp so 2 tickets was all I wanted and I wanted them on the floor. The ticketmaster web-site ask me what tickets I wanted, I punched in the $49.00 ones, the last box said "best available" so I entered it. Then after 4 minutes these $49.00 balcony seats get spit-up on the screen. Too late to re-submit for different seats so I took them. They are behind the stage.
I'm pissed off like thousands of others who didn't get tickets, no way I'm sitting behind the stage. The newspaper didn't even mention these seats! I stayed on-line knowing a second show would probably be a go, missed out, too late and all gone minutes later. The first show sold-out in 460 SECONDS as did the second show! Now to my gripe; U2 said ticket prices were set to thwart scalpers. In one way yes cause the good seats were $160.00, that's normally what a scalped ticket would go for to most shows in good seats. But to allow 8 tickets per person is an outrage. You could get 6 upper-level seats and 2 floor seats. Now tell me how you can sit in 6 seats and stand on the floor at the same time.
If U2 or ticketmaster wanted these seats spread around they should have had a limit of 4 or get tougher and only allow 2 seats per person. That way 2 to 4 times as many people would get tickets. Not only that, many paid $40.00 to join the U2 membership club promising them first dibs on tickets, most of these unfortunate people got screwed and got nothing and 100-200 people lined up at ticketmaster outlets and only a few got tickets. Too me, it's all hype and I blame U2 personally. I've seen U2 a few times and when they played BC Place for the "Zoo" tour in the ninties I lined up all night at the stadium with thousands of others. I even played touch football with a bunch of guys near the front of the line, budded in with them and only got row 50 on the floor. So you see all the hype leaves many disappointed. I'll do what I did for the "Elevation: tour, just buy my ticket at the last minute outside off one of these money hungary scalpers, scored one for $50.00 while people sitting beside me paid over $100.00. One concert at GM Place I had an extra pair of tickets so I tried to sell them in front of GM Place. Security approached me and said I can't sell them on GM Place property. Okay so I move to the nearest corner to unload this extra pair of seats and some scalper said, "this is my corner." Screw these damn scalpers too, they think they own the place and screw ticketmaster and most of all, screw U2.

Re: U2 ticket scam
Oh Twitch, you're crazy in the head man!
U2 rocks. Not my favorite band by any means, but good all around, IMO. You suck man.
Steve, I'm amazed they didn't have some mention on ticketmaster that these were obstructed view seats. ? Usually they do. I got Hip tix that way one time. SAme way behind the stage.
