To those doing window motor installs

I noticed a few pple were changing their window motors and just wanted to let you know that the install is damn easy, took less than an hour. Just have to drill a couple holes.

Can you show some pictures and a little more explanation of the process? I am currently trying to change the window motor for my 98 z28 and it is hard.

Brentz site was really helpfull. Once you know where the rivets are its really easy to get the old one out, and since he even tells you what holes the bolts go in for the new motor its pretty simple. All in all i drilled 6 times, 3 to get to the rivets and 3 to drill out the rivets, his pictures are pretty much exactly on, just take into account that its for the drivers side, so everything is somewhat reversed for the passenger side.

Is there any aftermarket replacement motor around, or we have to stick with the same underpowered OEM crap we have

Re: To those doing window motor installs

I picked up an aftermarket replacement motor from Lordco, cost about $120-odd, including about a $30 core charge, which they refund when you bring the old motor back. My passenger side motor was replaced under warranty by the dealership about 6 months ago, seems to be working fine.
