if i did it would be going in my 79 but if you want to redo your tranny talk to jordon musser, he does the highperformance t56 rebuilds now. but youll have to ship it to texas, or you can buy one out of a wrecked car down there have him redo it and send it up to you.

I have to use the outer shell from my tranny and whatever parts are compatable internally . The guts from the M29 should just slip right in . If there selling brand new T56 trannies for 1900 and rebuilds for 1400 us , I should be able to get it done for around 1000 usd *crosses fingers* or just pay the 2000 usd and sell my tranny .Im going to send off some mails today and try to get down to benz and see what he says .

With that combo this car will giddy da *** up

If your able to spend some coin - I suggest you get a 9" and keep the existing tranny, that way you'll have significantly strengthened the drivetrain and have the ability to run/swap to a variety of gears.

A 9" is going to significantly slow me down in in the corners . I want to install a new T2R with 3.73's out back and M29 internals up front. A spec III and alluminum flywheel / carbon ds are going in this winter *hopefully* .

BINGO !!!

The '03 SVT Cobra uses the T56 and 1-4 it's the same as the fbody, but 5th is .80 and 6th is .63. You could order the parts from Ford from the mid plate back to improve your ratios. I'm thinking of doing this myself to eliminate the big drop between 4th and 5th gears.
