Soooo... After leaving my dome light on for 3 days...

It seems the orginal battery in my 95 Z has given up all willingness to hold a charge...

Anyone have any recommedations on a new battery, or where to get one?

I've heard great things on the Optima Red Tops, but other then those I havn't heard a whole lot!

Thanks guys!

jeff

Crappy Tire has these 2:

Red Top - 44 amp hours, 720 CCA, for 179.99

Or this one:

Red Top - 50 Amp Hours, 800 CCA, for 199.97

Think the extra amps and cold cranking power is worth it?

I'm also gonna call around to Lordco and such and see if they have them cheaper...

I just noticed on my last visit that Costco carries them now as well.

If you have any sort of stereo system you might want to look into the yellow top (deep cycle).

Mopac says 199.99 for a 830 Cold Cranking Amp one...

but no, i have no large current drawing stereo, and nor do I plan on it... So the draw isn't such a big deal for me...

I'll pick one up in the next few days tho... Thanks for the responses guys!

well theres somone on revscene selling a yellow top pretty much new i believe, if you decide you just want a normal battery i have a hookup that way (direct link to suppliers), ive been running the (MagnaCharge??) and have had no problems, it even powers my sound system nicely and has the side terminals and all... it would be pretty cheap too... lmk

Got a red top optima at costco for my 95 ta for 157 bucks + taxes. I think it was the smaller one group 75 35.It didnt look like the bigger red yellow or blue top would fit without modifying the battery box.The optima web site lists this one for my 95 but does not list it for 96+.Hope this can help.

Don't waste your money on an Optima unless you have a jumbo stereo. I'd stick with an AC Delco or whatever is on sale at the local auto place.

So i got home yesterday, thinking I'd go try to start the car after it sat all last night and only drove it for about 15 minutes after I had it boosted at my buddys place... And what do you know, it fires right up (well, after a little hesitation, but thats a different story)

Weird... but it looks like i'm going to hold off on the battery for now... Even tho that Yellow Top on revscene is a great deal!

but thanks again guys!
