Well,
as some of u know I thought my opti had crapped out. So Armen graciously gave me one that he had lying around. Then I asked Matt and Payam to come help me install it on Saturday. I had to go to a wedding in Mission, so they said to leave the keys in the car. I get home and these guys had the car apart in no time and were waiting for me to go get parts/gaskets, etc. I have to give it to these guys, they know there stuff.!!
Then after we get the opti on, (turns out the bearings were shot on the old one), the car runs way better but something still wasn't right. I had a stumble during acceleration and what sounded like rockers knocking against the valve cover. Sooooo, Since Payam had to head home and Matt had to finish his car, We decided to take my car to Matt's in North Van. To give you a feel for the lenght of drive, I basically drove from Java hut to North Van. Car drove like crap!!! scared the **** out of me the whole way.

So I get to Matt's house and Armen is there waitning for Matt as well. We wait for MAtt, and finally start getting my car apart. U guys might remember the time I got stuck downtown with a rocker that came loose and caused me grief. Well, we take apart the passenger side valve cover and............................................... .................................................. ....................................THREE FREAKIN ROCKERS ARE OFF AND 1 SPRING IS SHATTERED!!!!!! seems like the valve was bent where the spring shattered. I think Matt, Armen and myself both agreed that I was damn lucky nothing went into the motor. Because otherwise I would have been really screwed!!! Seems like the rockers were never set properly, and the nuts didn't even back off! I have to give it to Matt! he didn't want to quit even though I was ready to throw a match into my car.
Anway's long story short, MAtt pulled strings and we got another spring (thanks Gerry!) and a pushrod that mysteriiously went missing we got the car runnign after PROPERLY aligning the rockers for what we could do considering we also realized that a couple of the lifters were shot! Even though the car still didn't run perfectly...it felt like it had more pwoer than ever before. I could be imagining it because I haven't driven the car in 1 week when it's been running properly but it really felt like it had way more potential.

I got home @ 1:30am and the car sounded like the rockers were coming loose again. I guess the lifters really were shot. Nothing we could do about that then.
So I would really like to thank these guys for all the effort and enthusiasm they have when it come to helping others out. You guys are a rare breed and trust me I really really appreciate it!!! Payam, Matt, & Armen... THANK-YOU!!!

OH yeah, and my car.... well.......at least the wife is happy. ..... the car is... well... it ...ummm.... is done for the year.... I have a 1 1/2 months till the insurance expires, so the way I look at it, summer is now over and the car is going into hibernation.

PS.... I am so pissed off right now, and the only thing I can say is .... LET THE WINTER MOD SEASON BEGIN!!!! MUHAHAHAHAAA!!! MUHAAHAHAHAHA!!! haha That makes me feel better and look forward to something.


EDIT: ****!! I just remembered, I have no car for the freakin Langly cruise in!!!!!! ahhh crap!!!!! That was going to be an awseome show.. 2000 cars..... 200, 000 people. hmmm ANybody want to get in? I have all the paperwork, I'm sure someone else wants in. Now I'm depressed again!!!

If it weren't for local guys like Payam, Matt and Armen, there wouldn't be anyone modding these 4th gens in Vancouver. These guys, along with Mike S are the only knowledgeable mechanics in the area for our cars and we should all be thankful. We have to take these guys out on the town and get them drunk to show our appreciation for all their hard work.

I will say one thing.. There are a lot of guys here that know the "logistics" of modding and have a lot of knowledge. But when it gets down to getting things done and hands on experience. Matt, Payam, Armen and Mike do know there stuff!

Awww so sweet, but matt should take all the credit. He is a machine himself or a part of a machine, let's say hes the camshaft in the motor and the rest of us are additional key parts in the functioning of this motor.

It does run a little rich at times.

I got a question for anyone who knows about aircare. If I have one year left for aircare and I go to get it again will they give me another two years on top of that or do I lose that year and they start the two over again?

u have a dead car .(absolutely no use for that torque arm) and ur letting that torque arm collect dust while im so desparate for one to make my measly 10 second pass ... while i've tried so goddamn hard to get sh*t together and missing the last piece of the puzzle ... and u want me to deal with some dude with 500 posts who doesnt even respond to his own thread and f*ck around with shipping which will probably take too long and the season will be over by the time i get it

not to mention . I had dibs on that torque FIRST .. and i was the one to tel u about the guy and the rest of the sh*t he's selling .. just to find out that he sold me out on the TA and sold it to YOU...

so instead of lending it to me as a favor . or even selling it to me to help buy ur cam and rockers . u gonna break my hopes, and let ur torque arm sit there and probably get stolen by some assclown junkie ...
