Salt Damage...

Got some salt damage on my rims, not on the actual rim but on the inside. Anyone know of a local place to get them fixed? Ballpark idea of how much to fix them as well.

You can see a bit of the damage in this pic.

As always thanks for your help guys.

You can see a bit of it in the pic, if you goto my album its like the 5th pic. I haven't tried anything on it, i'd rather pay someone to get it done but don't know where to go.

Re: Salt Damage...

Cost wise, I can give you a ballpark.

Green's sanded the inside of my OEM Hawk chrome rims smooth, and painted them flat black. Did a pretty fair job, considering how damaged the inside surface was before they started.

Cost was $400, all taxes in.

Took about a week, as I wasnt in any rush.

Re: Salt Damage...

along the same lines, would those companies be able to fic a bent lip on a rim. i just noticed it the other day pushing my car around the shop. looks like a hit a pot hole or something and bent the lip. i know it isnt from a curb or anything cause this is no curb rash or anything just a dent. ill try to get a pic of it

Re: Salt Damage...

I'll try both of those places and see the price difference. I think I'll do the same, just spray it flat black. Any pics of the rims WU6? Thanks for the contact info Bristol, its appreciated.

Re: Salt Damage...

Both of those shops can do major rim repairs. Greens even has the capability to make custom rims if they decided to get into it

Re: Salt Damage...

Sorry, no pics of the rims. They are in storage right now, I use them for winter. Green's was able to get most of the surface damage out, and the paint is smooth and semi-gloss (not really flat black). A lot easier to keep clean than the OEM finish. Should have been like this from the factory, IMO. If you can wait til fall, I'd be happy to show you the rims in person, they will be back on the car come September-ish.
