I recieved a parking ticket from DPS by parking in an empty lot in the middle of the night down in vancouver. Didn't realise the lot was still "active" =p The parking all night cost would have been 2$. The area is dark at night and reading the board was near impossible. I was parked there maybe 30 minutes =/
The thing is the ticket is $45( < 15 days) / 60$( after 15 days)! This seems ridiculous, any know if I can dispute this, or how much the maximum these places can charge? Should i just mail a 2$ check to them?

 

good luck, similar thing happened to me once and no luck. $45 is a punishment for not paying the $2. or else nobody would pay and just pay the amount when they got a ticket.

 

I had a similar ticket a few years ago and didn't pay it cause I forgot about it. Nobody chased me down and my credit was uneffected. Not like a traffic violation where you have to pay come insurance time. Look on the bright side, at least you never got towed for a c-note.
