Paint job

Ok, I finally decided to paint my car after getting tired of the "vintage" peeling paint look. It's a 1986 Z28 with the wide grills on the hood. Any ideas on a cool colour? A couple of ideas I had was Competition Yellow with Black race stripes, or Midnight Blue with Silver Metallic bits in the clear coat and Metallic Siver ground effects.

What does everyone think of midnight blue with metallic bits in it, the ground effects the same colour as the car, and two silver metallic racing stripes going from front to back? btw, what is a good width for the stripes with my wide hood grills? Should they just line up width the top edges of it? anyone got pics?

i would say your idea is good, keep the side skirts the same colour. but for the stripes id take some pics off the net for the 25th anniversary camaro. use those stripes, they are perfect lenght width. take the pis to your body shop and get them to paint it on. youll thank yourself later. i had my stripe copied off of a 25th anniversary TA. the paint will last much longer and look better then decaled stripes.

I checked out the 25th anniversary stripes and found nothing in any nice colours. The ones with the hood grills had the stripes widen around them which I'm not too sure about. Hey 93formula, you have any pics of your car with the hood grills?

I decided that even with my price charging half of what I paid for everything, I still wasn't gonna get what I wanted. Now I'm just gonna stick with the car for a while. The only reason why I wanted to sell it was because I wanted a fuel injection camaro with the 92 ground effects, and maybe save myself the cost of a new paint job. But that would require selling my sound system and no that I think of it, thats not happening.

Talking

The car is a 1992 25th anniversary 1LE, it has a 350 TPI, Power everything, leather seats, Full msd ignition, catback flowmaster setup, brand new carpet, basic sound system with sony cd deck and brand new kenwood amp(just bought 1 week ago), 2 JL 10" subs in custom box that fits in the trunk dip, last year it got a complete tune up and new idler arm, ball joints and alignment. It passed aircare with flying colors back in Feb of this year and you dont have to worry about it until 2005,170,000kms, rare car 1 of 705

thats all i can think about right now, there is probably stuff im forgetting about...

my price right now is $9500 obo but if youre really interested we can sit down and discuss price since its very flexible.

later,
pablo
