Hi, I need some parts for my muncie tranny. Its a SM465 AKA CH465. 4spd with a low first gear. They were used from 1969-1987 so it is a common tranny. I have rebuilt this one but the shifter forks are still worn out. There are little plastic peices bonded to the metal shifter forks and those have worn off causing enough slop to make shifting difficult. If anyone has these please let me know asap. I am trying to get this truck done and gone so I can carry on with bigger and better things (camaro).

Yes I have a ch465 that came out of a 80 3/4ton chevy that I want to sell for 250plus shipping.

 

Go to bb.bc4X4.com and ask. These trannies are cheap cheap, and everyone has one laying around.

 

Oooooold thread guys. That truck is long gone by now. The 465 are actually hard to find. The 2wd and 4wd are different of course and they both will break a snap ring if you run them too hard. The snap ring is what retains 3rd gear. Very common to break those trannys that way (ya, thats how I broke that one).

Having said that Id sure like another truck like that. 79 HD 3/4T with a 292ci and a monojet. Slow as **** but 21mpg while towing in a fullsize truck is pretty nice.
