if your considerign keeping your 350 and going to bigger carbs you should really consider the aftermarket efi swaps for sbc. youll get way better mileage and driveability and no loss of horsepower.

If I were you I would only buy a 4150 model holley. Look for holley list # 4776-2 or 4777-2(600 and 650cfm). The torker high rise guy wants way too much plus you don't need a high-rise with that motor.Get a performer or performer rpm manifold. Either of these manifolds you should be able to pick up used for 150 at most. Don't bother with the msd...your hei is a good distributer and can be hot-rodded for cheap or you can buy a proform billet distributer with all the goodies from mopac for 250 like I did.

Just use a non-drop base air cleaner and a 1" spacer and you'll need the cowl.

----

2.56:1, 2.73:1, 3.08:1, 3.42:1 were all avialable in 80. If it originaly came with a 305, it has 2.56:1 (automatic) or a 3.08:1 (manual). All 6 cyl cars got a 2.73:1.

High-rise intakes are more suited for engines with larger cams and high compression. Your 350 has smogger heads and the 76cc combustion chamber doesn't give much compression. Buy the torker if you want but it doesn't match the rest of your engine and your car will be a gas sucking dog. You want to run the high-rise then you need better heads , cam and carb to make one work.

If you stick in a huge lopey cam in without raising you compression ratio, the car will suck tons af gas and tons of ***. A really lopey cam with say 240 deg duration needs minimun 9.5:1 compression ratio. Take a look at comp cams website,it has a guide as to what cams need...sort of engine pre-requisites.

Get some closed chamber heads(64cc) and then you can run a big chunky cam and a high rise.
