I'm not an expert by any means but I don't think it is wise to place two different tires on your front wheels. I can understand placing fronts that match and rears that match, but using mismatched tires on the same axle is not recommended. Your tread pattern is integral during spirited driving .

Like I said, I may be wrong, so please correct me if I am.

Good luck.

maybe on the rear but there is no front axle so the worst it is going to do is wear one out faster then the other if it even does that so im not really worried about anything. ive never heard of that anyways i have only heard of put to different sizes not brands. these are the same size tires.

Thanks for clearing that up for me...I was always under the impression that if you have 2 differing tread patterns on your front wheels, your car could behave unpredictably. I'm glad you know your stuff - good luck with everything .

I'm not an expert either but during the 4 years I spent in tire shops, I did learn that tread pattern DOES make a difference. Although not extremely dangerous, think of it this way....

Put a drag radial on one wheel and put a normal street tire on the other wheel (we'll say it's the front, so no axle). The tires will ride different because of the way they make contact with the road. And this is where it become important.... If one tire, due to it's tread pattern makes better contact, and therefore more grip, with the road, imagine what will happpen when you make aggressive turns.... .. One tire will grip more and the other less, and because it is the wheels that you turn with, depending on the way you turn it will either put you into a tight spin(better grip on inner tire), or it will (if it is the outer tire that has better grip) try to pull you more in that direction.
If you are just passing the time, then I wouldn't worry about it too much, but I personally wouldn't race with tires like that.

Also, and I'm trying to remember how to read the dot numbers (it's been a few years since I worked in a tire shop) a tire is only good for 5 years. The dot numbers actually represent the date of manufacture of the tires. After 5 years the rubber hardens and it won't grip the road as well. I checked mine, and I'm starting to think that the reason I've been slipping alot in the rain lately is because of the age of the tires. I remember that the reason I bought my Dunlops the second time was because of how well they gripped in hte rain. Not anymore..

anywhoo.. that's my 2cents
