Man I hate these Vancouver roads

I was just out with Vicky (Z28 Chica) and coming back to my side of town I noticed I was getting a headache from the road I was driving on. Some of the roads by my house are kind of rough, but for the most part fine. Then they close it off for about a MONTH, stand around and leave it worst than it was before. What the **** is wrong with the goverment? Why are all the roads so horrible? I drive a sport compact and it gets eaten up by every pothole. I lost a brand new Yokohoma low profile tire when a pothole ripped a gaping hole in the sidewall. That really pisses me off.
Our government is the only one in the whole world that can make a road WORST off by trying to repair it. What kind of clowns do we have working out there?
I'm hitting my head on the roof cause the roads are so rugged even in the good areas, and it's not cool.
Anyone else notice they need to get their act together or pay for everyone's bent rims, ripped up tires and tired *** suspension?

I hate the US interstate concrete highways.

Hey mr00jimbo take your tire to city hall with a bill of sale for it and they will reimburse you the cost of the tire. Usually all you have to do is explain where and when the tire got the sidewall ripped out of it and they’ll just write you a check for the cost.

dude our roads here are pretty good compared to most cities I have travelled to. Try driving in Detroit or New Orleans - it's terrible even on the big federal Interstates.

The biggest problem we have is congestion and even that is pretty mild compared to other cities.

Maybe if we all volunteered to pay more taxes we could improve the roads?

Thanks for the replies. The street down the block from me was in no need of repair. They repaired it anyways, or "repaired it"
Now I can't drive any faster than 20 without bottoming out my car cause it's such a shoddy job.

The TransCanada should be 3 lanes. Period. The slow lane is bascally an entry/exit lane which means Vancouver has a one lane highway to get out of the city. If the "big one" ever hits......

Umm... we're paying way too much in taxes & thats all our gas prices are, ever since the increase in gas prices, tax etc... I've seen ZERO improvement on anything that my 2 little eyes can see, except for the government letting schools charge what ever they want & taking health care away, I guess thats what taxes pay for, you give 1 penny today & they'll want 2 tommorow because of greed.

I'd say it's more a "when" than a "if".

I don't think they fix the roads with any plans in mind, seems like they get bored and drop there machines off. My street was completely re-done last summer, new curbs, they put new turf in for everyone, well about 2 weeks ago they started tearing it all up again, they now realized they need to add some pipes. Luckily the flag girls are hot or I would be complaining, although with the height of my car right now i practically sweep the road with my black peice in the front

I know the roads are pretty bad. But like everyone else has said the roads in the states are worse. I found them to be pretty bad. Now the absolute worse is in my area we have all those F'n speed bumps "Traffic calmed neighbourhood" Yeah my left one. Those are the WORST. Especially in an F-body.

Well, I hate all this construction for new homes, etc... going on in Surrey. The contractors doing the job leave the asphalt a mess after the city/contractors make the connections for sewer hookup. That's my beef - all the brutual patches here.

However, there are a lot of good roads too.
