Stocks and bonds are not doing to good right now although I can give you some booklets on CSB's and what not. Mutual funds are where it's at, it's a gamble but then again if your gonna be a pussey about it just stick your money in rsp or rrsp's.

Where to start?
I have been an advisor for 17 years and actually have taught the Canadian Securities Course for the Canadain Securities Institute for 13 years.
First thing to do is get a subscription to the Financial Post and read it daily. You will learn a lot from that.
Quicken.com has a good wepage as well as MSN Money.
Next try opening an account at TD Waterhouse Discount and get access to their website, Web Broker. Agian, fabulous tools to start.
I have some books that I can send you but they are quick and short and it sounds like you want to start getting into the meat of the matter.
Ultimately the BEST course to take is the CSC. It is a tough course but is a VERY good feather to have in your cap.
Let me know if you have any specific questions.
