I-Pipe of Hooker catback

I'm going to take a look at a Hooker catback tomorrow. What's missing though is the I-pipe (I'm assuming that is the pipe that runs from the cat to the muffler). Anyways, could I just pick up a piece of 3" piping and put her in, or i think i also heard about people putting Dynomax bullet's in place of the I-pipe's too.

Anyways, any quick replies are great seeing as how I'm going to take alook tomorrow probably.

Thanks

yeah, ive heard good things about them. it is just the muffler i believe with the tips. i guess i could get away with running the stock 2.75" i-pipe, hey? after all, i have stock headers and exhaust manifolds. only mod is a cai (which shaun helped... well, pretty much INSTALLED for me). The extra quarter inch isnt going to make a big difference, is it?

Hey Cory

May i recommend that you couble check that you have a stock muffler now. i may be wrong because it seems like forever since I last hear a stock muffler - LOL - but you had a pretty decent rumble as you pulled away and though I cannot remember what STOCK tips look like, I did not recognize the ones you had.

Again, I may be out of touch, but given the k&N you had in the cars it is possible it has been changed already.

I just got the Hooker muffler put in. Didn't like the tips that come with it, plus they were showing some surface rust, so I just bought some 3" steel tail pipes. Looks SHARP. At idle, it sounds the exact same. But when you get on it, it's quite loud and deep... I do love the Hooker.

It sounds great, especially with the CAT out, use the stock piping with mine.

Yeah, I also used the stock I-pipe. If I were to remove the cat (only have one, since its a 93), would I have to do anything with any sensors? Also, what about Air Care?

all you need to do is put in 2 flanges....then you can swap the cat in and out with a straight pipe by bolts...you will need the cat in for aircare
