Dude . . . . your supposed to insure that you have enough reserve power , that even on 6.5 cylinders and a 70 / 20 mix of 2 year old 87 octaine you stole from a farm truck and pee from the brat pos kid next door , you can still smack down a crx !! ** Bows head in Shame **
Ps: However , breaking in new shoes is an excuse I understand

PPs : Never post a " death by honduh " here again
I don't know what kind of car you have mullet man........but I'm going to assume it's a 4th gen of some sort.......
Our cars are designed to run on 91 or better according to the manual.
You can put in 87 if you want and you still wouldn't hear any pinging because the computor adjusts the timing.
If you had an older carbed vehicle mabye........
91 Octane is fine for 4th gens though.......hell I've never put in anything but 92.........
You may need to look elsewhere for you difficulty in defeating small 4 bangers........
EDIT - Unless you have a 77 LT Camaro..........then you're just stuck losing to Honda's forever.......

I thought you had to lift off the throttle to roll down the window cause it smelled bad inside or something
. Take some timing out if you are gonna run godawful 91octane. My car would hate 91 octane. I run at 9-10 degrees base with a REALLY lazy advance curve on 94 octane and still fight with pinging. However I got a wee bit of 112octane here waiting for some action
. Gonna have to challenge a few people then.

Dang I am doing something wrong!
Over 11.1CR and shifting at 7k...Pulling off 11 second passes on 92 Oct gas. It even works with Juice for me.
Hey Jimmy boy you gots some tuning to do!
I have not been beat by a Honda since 98...then again it was a 12.0 sec Honda hehehehe
