I hate my job!!!

i was bored last night at work so i did a few calculations to see how much work we actaully did and in one eight hour shift we throw 47 metric tonnes of wood per person.

i measured 10 random blocks to get an average block weight of 50 lbs. Then i figured out how many blocks i threw in 6 minutes (times the number by ten gets one hour) which was 26 blocks. times 10 is 260 blocks every hour. 260 blocks times 8 hours is 2080 blocks each shift. then times 2080 by the 50 lb average is 104,000 lbs. 104,000 divided by 2204 lbs is 47.2 metric tonnes.

i only make $3.04 take home per tonne thrown

that is throwing the equivalant of 29 camaros in 8 hours.

over the course of the year and 240 working days ( 5 days a week minus 2 weeks holidays an 6 stats ) i equals 11,281 tonnes thrown. i should look like the ROCK!!!

i want to be paid by the tonne next contract not by the hour. $7.00 a tonne or i strike

it is blocks of would and you take them of a platform in front of you and throw them into grinder pockets you stand in the middle and the is 2 on either side about 4 feet away. you have to walk to 2 of them

I started off doing the same kinda thing but with coffee sacks. These b*stards are 150 lbs and you drag them 8 ft from a skid to a hole in the ground. You slash them open then grab the bottom of them and pour them. I averaged 200 a night for 1 1/2 years. I figure i'm somewhere around 6million +/- pounds. I lost 25lbs in first 6 mo. That's not including all the trailors(300per container) of coffee, extra bags and other heavy lifting I did. Now I SLACK.
