How about a Canadian Hot Rod Power Tour?
How about a Canadian Hot Rod Power Tour?
I have no idea how a person would go about setting this sort of thing up.
I'm jealous of the Americans and their Power Tour.
I'd like to have the same thing here.
I guess the downside is that we really only have one road across our country so the return trip would be looking mighty familiar.
How many of you would go if it were a week long event?
I suppose a person could just go down to the American one.........I know there are plenty of Canadians there - but I'd like to drive our country.
I've lived here all my life and I've never driven across to the eastern provinces.
If I had a good reason - like a power tour, I think I would go!
Your thoughts?

isnt the american power tour sponsored by big name companies? theres not enough of a hot rod comunity in canada compared to the US to get this thing up and going. perhaps a tour throughout BC may be a better idea in the summer. id be up for it if it were long enough notice.
The BC tour sounds good to me. I go to Kelowna every summer, so getting a group together for that is possible. It's the best lil party town in the province. You can camp, horeseback ride, boating, hike and awesome night club scene too. Tons of young ladies and the ride through the Coquahalla is second to none. You can bury the needle on some of the straight aways.
Stop in Merritt for the country music fest and hit Penticton for the peachfest. Only a 4 hour drive, three in my car.
Passengers of the female persuasion can ride for free.
I would be willing to co-organize the event. There is nice lakeshore camping for a reasonably cheap price if you reserve well in advance.

I suppose a BC tour is more realistic.
The prairies would get rather boring after looking at them for 10 hours straight.
I'm still jealous of the American Power tour.:blah:

im in fir the bc tour, id like to go further into the interior though. ive done penticton kelowna merrit all in one day before so id like to strech it out to a week touring through beautiful british columbia. must be planned well in advance though.
I assume everyone would be into getting a whole wack of assorted muscle together - yes Mustangs included.
Old cars, new cars, stock cars. heavily modded cars, trucks, all would be welcome in my opinion.
I would get excited thinking of the possibility of driving with a couple hundred (mabye) nice cars.
Would rice be allowed?
All the pics I've seen of the American Power Tour - I don't think I've ever seen a lowered Honda Civic.
I guess a person can't be too picky though...........looks like rice is here to stay - for a while at least.

No imports!!!
Here's an idea, I just got back from a buddy's cabin up in 100 mile house, and we went through Hells Gate. MAN!!! what an awesome road. Lot's of twisties, etc. We can go up the sea to sky, cut over to the 97 and take that back down all in one day through hell's gate. Or we could do the reverse.
id like to go longer then one day, one day of hard driving and no enjoying the scenery wont make a memorable trip.
imports not welcome, i can just imagine it now going up hill: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

so this is how it sounds to me, is that you start at Vancouver go up the Coughilla exit off to Kelowna go to Penticton thats all I have from ya guys. Then maybe you guys, can come through Salmon Arm I'll join in there.
Then we could cruise through Sicamous and Three Valley Gap <nice place the three valley> out to Revelstoke then turn in Revelstoke to go out to Nelson another nice place then I also beleive willias lake is on that road go there and come down either on the extreme west or east. This is of course assuming you guys will allow me on

Across Canada and the flat praries to the polluted Toronto area.
