Hillcrest ideas

I'm talking to Hillcrest currently, and it sounds like they are a cool group and may be able to accomodate us.

It seems the guy I'm talking to is a Firebird owner himself.

Anyways, I'd like a few suggestions from you guys as to what we'd like to ask of Hillcrest. I'm not thinking of getting a group discount because 1) they are already a good price, and 2) I want them to make a fair profit so that they'll always be here (I'd hate to see the only drive in dissappear).

We'd definitely need:

1. Reserved parking for club members (block off a section for us).
2. ?

Also, we'd have to be able to tell them in advance what day, how many cars, whether its rain or shine, etc... to be fair to them. So, everyone would have to be able to say YES or NO at least a couple of days in advance.

Questions:

Would we be open to weekdays or just weekends? They'd probably love it if we could add a few cars on weekdays when not busy, but I can see it being tough to get a group together on a Wednesday...
Only on sunny days, nothing in the rain? I'm guessing sun only.
How many sessions througout - 4 or so? Maybe more.

Thanks.

Sounds good to mee too. It may be a good idea for someone to collect money in advance so the drive in doesn't save spots for say 15 cars and only 5 show up. We could collect it at one of our monthly meetings. That way when you call the theatre you have definite numbers of cars. Sound okay?

I would be up for seeing Fast and the Furious 2. Nothing better than letting all the people there listen to 15 F-bodies make some real noise after listening to the imports buzzing around like mosquitoes for 2 hours in the movie.

Ya Mr Z28... but that means YOU have to watch that movie too No thanks. Sounds like zedzag has a good point... collect the $$$ from the people in advance. Where their $$ is they will follow . You can count me in for a movie or 2... but dont know if I can do 4 in one season.

Some good ideas.

Zedzag, that's a smart idea. And I don't think most people will have a problem with it. We'll try that.

Hey Cory, it looked like in the trailers that there was more american muscle this time in Fast and Furious. Thats a good thing. If not, we can fluff up a pillow for you in that 377 and you can close your eyes for a spell...

The number of shows we can attend is just for 'ballpark' numbers just so that the Drive In knows that we are serious and committed to doing things. There would be no madatory appearance (though if no one showed up, that would kind of look bad), that's for sure. If I tell them that most guys are behind hitting four or so shows throughout summer, then they at least know that we're not a fly-by-night group.

Thumbs up

Great idea! Keep tabs of the details and be sure to bring them to our next meeting - you will have the floor for a formal Hillcrest presentation.

I usually go to a couple Hillcrest shows in the summer, so I'm up for it.

Are they going to be showing the new Matrix movies?

Wow, that looks exactly like my old V6 Bird!

And they have the hot dog jumping in the bun on the screen in the background. Bwahaha. That's my favourite part of going to the drive-in.

GM Chrysler! Look at the movies they are going to have:

X-men 2
Matrix Reloaded
Hulk
Charlie's Angels
T3
