Help...just bought 1.6rr's
I just bought crane gold series 1.6 roller rockers......now do I need to change the valve springs? I have 70,000km on the odo. I have a stock cam too.
If I do need to change the valve springs(which i really don't want too) can I make out with the LT4 valve springs? How much are they from GM? Can you guys give me a part number?
Thanks guys
JIM

Yes, you have to change the valve springs.
Get the comp cams "ovarian" (sp?) from Mopac for around $70. It's a single sping that uses the latest technology that results in it being better than most double springs. Plus they are WAY easier to put on.
good luck

are you planning on keeping the stock cam? If so you might be able to get away without changing springs - I can't remember the max lift that stock springs support. the LT4 springs would be a good choice though since they are single coil (thus easy to install) and cheap.
You will have to change the valve springs, the LT4 springs will work but if you plan to do a cam in the future it would be best to get some better valve springs now so you don't have to change them again because it isn't a fun job to do
