Heads delay... my turn to vent again!

Well, looks like I'm going thru the same pains nearly every LS1 owner goes thru when waiting for aftermarket heads...

First it was the cores being CNC'd taking forever. Now apparently the valves are on back order at least another 3 weeks, so I likely won't get my heads till the end of september or so. Cripe! Lol, why did I RUSH to order my cam and get it overnighted to me...

Its funny how something can go from being "at your door in 3 weeks" when you first talk to a shop to a 3-month wait. And its such a common pattern with aftermarket stuff. Oh well, I'm not the first to see this (and its not the first time its happened to me). These shops are either the worst chronic liars or the naivest of people to be so far off the delivery dates. Though some shops are better than others. Speed Inc has ALWAYS been preceisely right on for me.

As long as they do the job right. That's another funny thing - you can't RIP into the guy on the phone because then you never know what they're going to send you for parts. You'll get the set of heads that was worked just a little less than the others. Haha.

Yeah, I hate being patient. But, I have talked to Jay several times and I am satisifed he's doing a good job. I'd rather have the best heads sent to me rather than something half-assed. I'm just looking forward to getting them installed and getting some numbers done.

Plus side is that if things take till the end of Sept, my car will beoff the road and I may be able to make arrangement to the work myself. Umm, with Cory's help perhaps...

It sucks when you wait forever & junk arrives too. Thats aparently a common thing with GTP heads lol. Good thing I got rid of those years ago off my 93, took month to complete, you would think it would be great work, & you get some shotty heads that look pretty as hell but perform like A$$.

Good luck Chris, I'm sure your heads will kick some A$$ though! Any heads on an LS1 do though thats the thing LOL

I remember that. I made the joke of saying your headers weren't going to be here for months and I wasn't far off

....and they sent you the wrong ones

LOL I remember that. I can only hope I never have to go through that BS again.

I did end up with free cats out of the deal though.

Lol! I had the same issue with headers. Ended up with 2 sets out of the deal because they sent the wrong ones first (which they let me keep at no charge - not bad).
