Going to have to sell my car. What do you guys think I can get for it? (link at end)

1996 Z28: 106km silver, graphite leather interior, Bose stereo, NO T TOPS (I hate squeaks and rattles), 6 speed, K&N FIPK, KB Double Diamond subframes, Power Programmer, under drive balancer (not sandwich pulley), relocated IAT, TB air foil, custom made lower control arms with rod end in one end and poly bushing in the other (made by Chief Chassis), adjustable panhard rod (rod ends both ends), poly torque arm bushing, 1LE trans mount (96’ stlye), HD Torsen, 3:73 GM gears, ARP bearing cap studs (for differential), LPW ultimate cover (rear end girdle), aluminum drive shaft (thanks Flag Chevy), KYB AGX shocks, Power Slot rotors (on back only), Z rated brake pads, SLP billet flywheel, SLP pressure plate, SLP clutch disk, Hurst shifter, Momo shift ****, MSD wires (8.5mm I think), crane HI6, 1LE front swaybar, OZ racing F1 plus 17x9 wheels, Firestone SZ 50 275-45-17” tires, RK Sport body kit, REAL SS rear spoiler (96' model), tinted rear window, MBA (Mallory Billet Accessories) resonator plug, MBA LT1 TB plate, MBA billet hood insets (replaces the crappy plastic hood inserts in the middle of the hood), Clifford 3 pt immobilizer, stainless exhaust all mandrel bent (409 mid pipe, 304 polished muffler and tail pipes with nice stainless tips)

I probably forgot something in there. I have ALL the receipts for the parts on this car. Factory service at 5k with Mobil 1 since new (have ALL receipts). I bought the car new in late 96’ and have the window sticker too. The car has been dynoed at Minnam Racing (when they were still around). I can’t find the dyno sheets but it was around 295 rwhp. The car has been driven daily by my wife to and from work in Richmond and has never been hit. I am buying a house and need to get a car that has a bit lower operating cost. Email or post here with any questions/suggestions.

Maybe I can get Rudy to chime in here as he has seen/riden in the car.

Nathan

I don't have any that are scanned right now. I can try and scrounge up a digital camera and get some pics though.

Oh yeah, it has traction control, a bra that fits the body kit (I always use it when we drive on the highway) and really nice windshield visor for when parking in the sun.

I am asking $16k but I am willing to negotiate.

The Minnam racings dyno is now down on on main near Great Northern Way. I may be able to get a printout if they still have the same computer on it. The car has no internal mods but does have K&N intake, underdrive pulleys, relocated IAT, bypassed TB, resonator plug (makes it like a 1LE intake elbow), air foil (like that does anything LOL), aluminum driveshaft, 160 thrmostat, Power Programmer (mainly for the fans and the speedo but the program was in the car) etc. It pulls pretty strong for an LT1. I know a guy on the board here but I don't know what he goes by. Maybe he will put in his 2 cents.

My brother has a camera but I won't be able to get it tonight. Maybe tomorrow or the next day before I can.

Sounds like your car is clean. I would put it in for $17,500 and take $15,500 if I was you.
Due to the demise of the F-body our cars haven't dropped as rapidly as they should have in the last year or so.......
Good Luck!

Hey Nathan,
You're selling the Z? Man, going to miss having another Z near work. Anyhow, I see the car almost every day (Nathan's wife works a few buildings over from me), the car's a beauty.

Thanks Jason. You still using the 1LE panhard rod? It looks like there have been, umm, a few mods on your car now LOL.

I might ask for $16.5k then. The buy and sell a good place to list it? There is really too much stuff to put in an ad in there. Anyone here interested? Like I said, I have all the reciepts, factory service records and most, if not all, the original parts (except for the 3:42 gears and diff). I even have the reciept for Jason's panhard rod if he still has it LOL.

Nice car but I thought GM advertised the LT1 as 275hp to the crank? Am I missing something here or do you have mods that you don't know about? Either there is something special with your LT1 or something wrong with all of ours?

When you went to the dyno did you specify you had 3.73 gears?

I had dynoed it before and after the gears. Before the gears I think it was around 280-285 to the flywheel and after the gears (and adding the heavy 17" tiers and wheels) it dynoed 275-280 on an very hot day with the corrections off. I then did some mods to the MAF and it showed 10 rwhp on the dyno. With that it was back up to 285-290 on a hot day. BTW, the 96' and 97' were 285 hp due to the dual cat system (its efficent enough that lingenfelter only recommends porting the stock exhuast manifolds over going with shorty, emissions legal, headers).

Payam.....you'll need more than a pulley for you to keep from being slow
