FINALLY up and running.
FINALLY up and running.
Well on Saturday I finally reached a point where I was able to drive the car to get the alignment done after the build up. Once again, Cory was here to help. In fact without Cory, given the problems I have had, the car would NEVER have seen the road again.
We had a small set back. The number 6 spark plug boot caught fire.
We were able to cut the wire back and put on a new boot. Its OK for now but I will have to replace the whole wire soon.
I have an oil leak from the DS yoke as it goes into the tranny. It looks like the DS is too long - or too short - not sure which. It appears the seal is leaking there so I have to investigate that.
It seems SO strange driving it. Of course the suspension is like a go kart but every creak and thud scares me. Have I done something wrong? I'm still very much babying the car at this time but after 6 months in the Probe, the TA feels alien to me.
So far I'm just pottering around, not been above 3000 rpms yet. I drive and Cory played with the tune. Its definately getting better.
I have some small jobs yet to do. Cut the tonneau cover for the roll bar legs, cut the DS kick panel for the roll bar as well. I HAVE to get a crankcase EVAC system as well. There still seems a lot of crankcase gas from the valve cover and it makes the engine bay dirty. I have oil dripping from the stater motor and I'm pretty sure it is oil from the breather cap dripping down the side of the motor. The polished Borla has already started to go a slight tinge of gold colour *shrug*. The other big job is getting the solid intake tube done and relocatting the air filter from where it is now.
I also have to get 72# injectors bought.
The good news is that, so far, it does NOT appear that I have an oil leak from the rear main seal which was a major pain from before.
Also, I have not seen much boost, I think the belt needs to be tighter.
Once again a HUGE thank you to the many people that helped and a special thanks to Mike P and BIG thanks to Cory.
