Emissions testing question!

Another moving to Portland question:
I'm pretty sure my car with the CC305 and a cat will pass the sniffer dyno test....my question now is this: I have long tube headers, therefore, when I bolt in my cat, it will be relocated. I still have all the emissions stuff hooked up on the headers, just the cat is moved. Will this pass the visual inspection of the exhaust? Please let me know, cause I might have to keep it registered in Texas if it doesn't.

I'm not positive on this one so maybe Bobby will chime in here. I think Portland has a diagnostics only type test. They plug into your ALDL port and check for any stored codes. If it checks out ok you pass, and no visual testing is performed to my knowledge.

They do emissions testing on a dynamometer I know this. I read it on the Oregon DMV website.

The diagnostic test may just be for OBDII cars then because I'm sure that is how they tested Bobby's ride,,, well before he sold it.

Yep 96 and newer are diagnostics, 95 down to about 82 are emissions on a dyno that simulates driving conditions, and pre 82 ( or somewhere around that year) they do two engine speeds - idle and 2500 rpm. I've done my reading on those tests, just not sure about the cat stuff. I did see they said some things couldn't be moved, but I am hoping they might be somewhat lienent if there is a cat it is ok...I'm hoping anyway.
