DYNO DAY - Gauging Interest?

Just wondering how many people would be interested in a Dyno Session? I was thinking Early April. Time to get the ball rolling on some events

So if your interested post some dates that work for you.

what's the difference between a Mustang Dyno and a Dynojet?
And why do they call it a Mustang dyno?

Harvey's dyno can't get a proper RPM readout for LS1 guys & my car since I have LS1 coils now, if you can't get a proper rpm readout, the numbers you get are garbage.

It will be Harvey's Dyno, the problem previously has been LS1 cars with stock wires. I will contact Harvey on Monday and see if he has done anything to get around this problem. I do know that some guys who switched to aftermarket wires had no problems with the readings.

It will be at Resnick Racing and it will be $100 for 3 runs

i've seen LS1s dyno properly on his dyno .. i think only chriss had problems and a long time ago ...

the problem might've been the shortness in the LS1 wires (or so harvey said) .. if thats truely the case we can bring 1 long wire and swap it into #1 plug

but i've seen him dyno LS1s properly (i drove perry's myself on his dyno) and the rpm was reading properly

jd: tell him id be willing to help out this time as well

I think I'll keep out of Harvey's way, Harvey is way too confident about his knowledge IMO, problem with LS1 he has was the multiplier was way off, trying to read my coils is a bit of a challange as me & 95wagon tried to hook up the wideband to read RPM on my car, but we got pretty close, we has to splice into the signal wire from the PCM, as we couldn't get any proper reading from the wires & mine are MSD & shorter then LS1's, I"m also not a fan of bringing a long wire which might be misfiring or who knows, I'd like to dyno as is, Harvey can fix his dyno & then I'll go.

I don't know if I'm letting you drive my car...

Harv has had a hard time reading my car, with or w/o aftermarket wires. There have been some gaps in the readings and the rpms haven't been dead on, but I want to try again with him. Even with the problems, the numbers have been about where they should be. And, I think the last time he dyno'd me, the numbers were more consistent. Other LS1's have had better luck with Harv.

But I'd appreciate JD talking to Harv to find out the issue. I've spoken with at least 10 shops in the US (far away) about the difficulty of reading LS1's, and no one seems to have a clue why it should be a problem.

I think my car is just special... like a hot women that's hard to read... lol!

I like the fact that it is a Dynojet he has, as that makes it slightly more comparable to what mopst other shops use.

Jimbo, Mustang is just the manufacturer of the dyno, as is Dynojet, Super Wyn, etc... and each just uses a different set up of rollers to measure rwhp. It is tough to compare a Mustand dyno reading to a Dynojet dyno reading because each operates differently. But the can be compared, just loosely.
