Don't buy gas on the 19th

I can't remember where I heard this but did anyone else hear not to buy gas on the 19th? Also did anyone get the e-mail to stop buying shell or petrocan gas to force a gas war?

Both good ideas to me.

Edit: iguess this answers my second question- http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...e&pagenumber=1

I heard not to buy gas on Mondays in general. Everyone has some sort of thing to try and cause these gas wars. Who knows if any of them will actually work.

in order for this to work there would have to be a huge media campaign to let everyone know.

This will never work cause we all need gas like a junky needs his fix. We are being held hostage by OPEC and the big oil companies who raise there prices on spec alone. We can make a stand one day but what about when the tank is empty?

How is a gas station war going to come up from us not buying gas on a certain day or not going to the same gas stations everytime? There is more gas station competition in Vancouver than there is in Calgary. Prices are generally within 1 cent of each other while Calgary is 2-2.5 cents difference.

On a side note, was thinking today how expensive it would be to fill up a 36.5 gallon "big tank" mid series Corvette with premium would be. ($150). Even the standard 22 gallon Vettes wouldn't be cheap.

If you could afford to own an N03 tanker I doubt if fuel cost would be an issue.

94 was "only" 103.9 in Mission last night as opposed to 113.9 in North Van yesterday.

I heard on the news today that "gas n' dash" is up 50% since last week. I guess if you can't afford fuel people will just take it.

As well as the siphoning of people's gas tanks.
I've heard of it from guys at work a couple of times in the last month.
I got the tank in my Blazer emptied while parked at the mall last year.
It's pretty simple I would imagine - Crappy Tire sells those mini gas nozzles that would make short work of it.

I heard the same thing, but it doesn't really make any sense. Not buying gas on any given day will accomplish next to nothing since you are still going to consume it in the same manner. I think if we really wanted to send a message we should pick a day not to CONSUME anymore gas than was absolutely necessary. Just my thoughts....

Arrow

Everyone just stop going to work or out Make a big strike across all professions, stop the world till gas prices come down Now that would work but who can spread the word.....

So in other words....nothing can be done IMO, pay the extra couple of bucks every week and ask for a raise

You guys really believe that not buying gas on 1 day in the middle of the week will work? If you do have your head looked at.

It means that those that normally somone buying gas on that day will just buy gas the day before or the day after, Increasing the amount of gas bought on the day before & the day after.
My husband & I normally buy gas on Fridays because thats when we both get paid. But if there was a gas out on Friday then I would just go get gas on Saturday.

You will not see any effect on the gas prices until one of two things.
The US Government goes to Opec & demand they lower the price of Crude Oil or they will boycot Opec produced oil until they do (which over a month's time will kill oil prices & put a gas shortage on) This they will not do.
The other one is the Elections for US President in Nov. Opec countries dont like the Bushes & they want him out of office.

I really don't care about the price of gas cause my old modded out 70 split-bumper RS SS got less than 10 miles to the gallon plus octane boost. My LS1 gets almost triple that mileage. All whiners should just go buy a 4-banger import or take public transportation. I'll be gassing up across the line this summer when I cruise to White Rock.
