When buying used its like anything else, usually fine but when they are bad, they are bad. Blowers have trouble with seals that need to be replaced.

Of course the MAJOR issue is the pistons and the need to replace them.

That being said, Ryan has been lucky so far.

Lucky I am, and skating on thin ice. A 355 blower motor will go in when my stock LT1 goes south. I am not sure of the strength of a blown stock LS1 however. ChriSS try to keep the boost modest if you do get one. Don't get too greedy.

Thumbs up

There isn't any real harm in buying a used blower, because you will save a lot of money and well I have yet to see a used blower that hasn't run perfectly and even at that the money you save can be put towards a rebuild and I am sure you will still stay under the price of one new, I have put on and taken off about 4 used blowers off Perry's car, they have all been perfect. Although i don't think there will be many used LS1 kits out there right now

I am sure you guys could run 7psi on the stock engine and get away with it for a while and well once you need to re-build it will be a good time as any to build a 388ci LS1

Hey, he gets Mike (Zedzag) and myself mixed up all the time too... I'm noticing a distinct pattern.

Btw, on LS1s they are running 7 pounds very well without trouble on ATIs. Those running more boost haven't really been doing so long enough yet to know the long term effects (of not strengthening the other components). There is still somewhat of a learning curve going on.

A used blower would be a nice idea. I'm torn though... H/C or blower.

Sure we fire them up but it always fun to see how long it takes before Perry is bored with the power it makes

One of these days he will return to the track...hopefully...
