Dealer price for Chevrolet truck in Canada

I am looking to buy a new truck ( Chevrolet 1500 4x4 crew cab ) in the next month and was wondering if any one here was able to tell me the dealer price ( approximate) or knows somebody who would be able to give me a price. There are a few sites online but if I could save $40 it would be great
The price break down of the truck is;
Base price - $45,880
Destination - $1,200
Options - $6,500

If any one could help that would be great
On a side not has any one driven a Chev with the new 6.0L 345 hp vortec max in it?
If so how was the power?
Thanks for any help

we got a 05 2500HD 6L crew cab 4x4 short box. it really depends on all the options you want etc. and how low the dealer is willing to go. i think before anything it came to about 46k? then the dealer knocked 5k off that, dealer ordered. then another 1k for that ring in to win deal.

The best thing to do is play all the dealerships against each other, as 06's are relatively new they will be reluctant to drop alot off the msrp unless you find any 05's left or demo's but bargain hard and checkout all your options. I won 1k off too on the ring in to win a few weeks ago and it ends jan/3rd.

I feel the same way, plus 2006 will be a short and final model year for this generation gm SUV and trucks so they want to move them to make room for the next generation.
Thanks for the help guys

Re: Dealer price for Chevrolet truck in Canada

if im reading this right you are looking at spending $53000 on a 1/2ton truck. if thats true then why not a deisel? for that much you can get a pretty decent option package on a new deisel. as far as im concerned 1/2 tons are a rip off, i was at maple ridge chrysler yesterday and a loaded ram 1500 was $51800 and a couple weeks ago i test drove a 06 ram 3500 4x4 loaded with cummins and a 6 spd for $47000 and the power of those things is rediculous. as far as im concered if you are even looking close to spending $50000 on a truck a deisel is the only way to go. just my 2 cents though.

I would get a duramax but - I have a 5 min drive to work
- The trailer I tow is only 4000lbs

The price difference between a 1500 to a 2500hd is not very much but the duramax and Allison is an expensive option ( $8000), that being said I have found some nice 05's for $46,000 - $47,000. It seems as through the sales of deisel trucks have slowed down a bit, might be due to the fact that deisel costs about 10 cents a litre more around here than gas.
My other reason for wanting to go gas is the fact that I want to keep this truck for 10 years and I do not want to be paying for maint on a diesel engine, I know that diesel engines last a lot longer than gas but when they do need work they are expensive to fix.
As for power I am hoping to test drive a Vortec max (6.0L 345 hp) next week and see how that is.
That all being said I have not locked myself into a truck yet, I am still looking for that great deal.

Thanks for the help

I can't really offer any input into truck prices but as far as Maple Ridge Chrylser is concerned.....STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!!!! I don't know if you happened to notice an '02 Camaro 35th Ann Edition or not, BUT IF ANYBODY HERE READS THIS, FOR YOUR OWN GOOD, BACK AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE! I have quite the story to tell about management there if anybody at all is considering this or any vehicle from this dealership. Thats just my short little rant...continue on about truck prices!!

You did alright, I took delivery on a 05 GM car last month, stickered for 72,500 but I paid 55,000. They probably could have gone down closer to 45 on your deal, nice choice anyways and enjoy your new truck.

Yea its a 4x4, took a drive this weekend ( 1250 km) and averaged 17.5 mpg.
Once it gets broke in I'm hoping for 23-24 mpg, not bad for 310 hp and 605 ft/pounds of torque and once I chip it
