At crossroad take a look :)

Don't know if this is the right forum but it does have to do with LT1 tech

Just got done taking out my oil pan gasket plus the tranny is out for the street twin install. I've done all the mods on this car and put alot of blood and sweat and especially money

The car runs mid to high twelves and is in good shape. Here is my question and I'm sure alot of you ask yourselves the same and some have made decisions.

I am in the process of selling my S-trim because I started thinking putting more money into this car is crazy. I was thinking of buying a 2001 TA and putting the stuff that is interchangable like: wheels, LPE driveshaft, 3:73 rear, corbeaus, pro 5.0 etc. Then selling this for like 5 or 6 grand (it would still be a high 12 low 13 car.

But after getting underneath it again and tearing her apart I'm having second thoughts...Does any one else go through this? Part of me is thinking of seeing if I can back out of the sell of my S-trim and start installing it and the other part of me is thinking its been 5 years maybe its time for something else and something with less miles etc?

What do you guys think?

Bobby

BTW Johnny I said I'd sell the SC to you and I will , but I am having second thoughts if you'll let me out of it (still not sure)

I say keep the purple one " Crazy " and buy a 2001 for driving around for fun mostly stock . This way you have the best of both worlds .

Bobby, you change you mind too much.

I've done this with my 93, I didn't have an M6 in it & didn't make my money back like I thought I would, but you might have more luck, I'm happy I got my 95 though

First u sell ur NX kit to me .. then ur S trim to Johnny .. DUDE !! STOP DOING THAT TO URSELF if u like the car .. just keep it and mod it... these cars arent meant to be left alone .. modding an Fbody is like an oil change on any other car . its REQUIRED .. or else they might as well rot and die ...

start modding that car .. it needs more *****

I had the same problems with my 1982 IROC. I bought the car for $3500 in grade 12, put $13,000 into it and was going to build the BADDEST 383 killa (na) of a motor for it. Jr. heads and intake, solid roller and 850 holley HP. This car was going to be BAD ***! Then I thought, I can afford a new car that would get better MPG than the 5mpg motor i was building, so I bought my 96 WS6. Now this car is going to eventually be the big BAD car I always wanted. When I get out of school, It will be almost paid off and will just need a new buttom end (rear and clutch comming before then) When this is done, I will have no debt, as I would have if I had bought a newer Corvette and will allow me to spend money on a house down payment or retirement

I say keep it; it's a pretty modern car...consider this: the payments on a brand new C5 (the one that my mom wanted with our 96 transport and $5000 cash down) would be $1600cdn PER MONTH!!!!!!!

Thanks for the comments guys. Well Johnny already sent the MO for the SC so it is sold. I think I'm just going to get the car back together cleaned up and the little stuff fixed like the AC recharged and the speedo. Drive it around a little while and think about it.

Maybe if I just keep it a few more years I can have both and LT1 and an LS1 right now it would be stupid but in a couple of years.... Build the LT1 for race and the weekends and the LS1 can be a daily driver that would be sweet huh!

Payam you need to get a run in that actually matches your cars potentential so far your car isn't a whole lot faster than my "low ball" car I gotta get back on yahoo so I can get all the details on you getting back on the road. I found a lower A-arm in garage but I bet you already got a new one???
