Community Crash Reduction Challenge
Do you have anything on your agenda between May 5th and May 27th? Perhaps you would like to win a prize and increase road safety in your community? Join I.C.B.C.'s Crash Reduction Challenge and make an effort to reduce crashes where you live. Everyone will benefit!
Did you know that in an average year in BC, over a quarter million crash incidents are reported to ICBC? Car crashes are the leading cause of injury and death for youth in BC. In BC on a typical day, there is a car crash every two minutes. Someone is injured every seven minutes.
If you don't think that you are affected by this, think again. Over 80% of the insurance premium that you pay for your vehicle each year is paid out by I.C.B.C. to compensate for the results of a crash. So, if you haven't been involved in a crash yourself, you are still paying directly for the crashes caused by others.
Safe driving and crash reduction start with the individual driver. If your community has proclaimed its intent to join the challenge, participate with your neighbours. If it has not, participate on your own. Set an example for others and everyone will be a winner.
