Wow. That is SO lucky. I can't imagine being that lucky. You certainly want to ensure that that specific officer never comes across you doing it again.
I wonder if when you get stopped like that if the police make a "note" on their computer, tagging your license plate and letting other officers know that if they catch you doing that agian, that you have a past history of it (never ticketed, but warned) - so that hte next officer won't be as lenient. I'm going to ask a friend of mine who works for the RCMP in Langley.

Damn man, sounds like a tense situation
I had a police encounter last night also... was coming home from downtown and ran into the first counter-attack roadblock of the year. The cop asks the usual questions about drinking and then asks me whats going on under the hood (my blower whine is REALLY loud). I respond "It's a supercharger" and thought oh ****, here it comes. He responds: "Deadly! Have a good night sir!"

Couldn't resist!
Yeah, there were a couple of cops at timmys last night. Just chatting and being friendly. Some guys were being a little silly not knowing the cops were there but they were basically saying "..look we do understand you are young folks and enjoy your cars. But be responsable and use some intelligence and discretion if you are fooling around..."
I wonder if the cops are trying a different tactic here. Trying to let off the hard line a little.

No they don't, only when they write you out a warning, thats what those are for, so the next cop isn't as lenient.
