Clicking Noise from suspension
Hey guys i know this is hard thing to solve but just thought you may have some ideas or personal experiences. I am hearing a clicking noise when i go over bumps and when i take left turns. It is from the passenger side, it only happens on some bumps but whenever i turn left it is there. Any ideas?

Swaybar comes to mind. It could also be anything else so you will have to take the wheel off and have a look for anything worn or sloppy.

click or clunk? click click click or just one clunk? could be the lcas, are they the rod end ones? loose exhuast? go under and see if all the ehxuast hangers are on tight. could the sound be coming from the wheel area?

look for a rock in your tire;) :D

I ASKED THIS QUESTION LAST WEEK. pUT SOME GRESSE UNDER THE SPRINGS. rIGHT ON THE PIRTCH THAT THEY SIT ON. WORKED FOR ME.

I have had this on three cars.
On all of them it was the back Lower A arm bushings. They were worn and this lets the arm rub the K member and makes a clicking sound going over bump. We used poly bushings for replacements. ONLY install the lowers!! Or trust me that click is nothing compared to the damn squeaking my upper arms make! Not sure if this is what you are hearing but what I have found in the past. I hope this helps! |
Wasn't the sway bar, that was my first guess, isn't the exhuast, it is coming from the front suspension, i will try that greese trick but I am now thinking it is the bushing for sure. Thanks Guys :) The sound is driving me crazy

I had the exact same sound johnny .. i bet you its the spherical ends on the lower A arms ...
what happened with the K member fiasco ? |
The spherical ends make a noise as well, that i can live with :) This is a louder clunk noise.

I got a loud clunk noise since day 1 as well .. exactly the same one u speak of .. it was rare though .. speically when i was turning on a bump .. i lived with it :o
|
It is the back bushing on the lower control arm on the passenger side, the bushing is collapsed and broken at a point. So i am pretty certain that is where the noise is coming from :) Thanks Guys :thumb:

I had a feeling ;)
