cmon now ian .. lets not get bitter over this ..

i wouldnt say 117 mph out of a stock motor with a medium cam and ported stock heads is too bad ... considering i didnt have to do an engine swap when i got my car .. and noone around here is running low 14s at 80 mph ... u know that too

when you imports come up with a popular race where mph would be the winning factor then u can say that rwd cars suck at that kind of race since fwd cars get better mph.. oh wait .. do they really ?

alright enough jokin around .. lets all have a rat race to safeway and back

I knew that would get you guys riled up

I wouldn't say 98mph out of a stock motor is too bad either. Not to mention daily drivability (1000+ km's per week) and mileage (600+ km's on the highway per 30L, 400km's city driving for 30L). Do you drive your car everywhere, Payam? C'mon tell the truth now... horses for courses! You can't compare your race car / weekend bruiser to ANYONE's daily driver unless you're willing to actually daily drive it! And never mind your rat races - would you prove anything by beating my street car with your race car?

And as for doing an engine swap - sure I did one! And I'd do another one too if I had another Honda! When the car only cost $3800 to begin with, spend another $3800 and get what I got. Not bad for over a 1.5 secs off the 1/4 time with no reduction in mileage or driveability! An engine swap on a Honda is like a cam swap for a domestic, except it doesn't hurt mileage.

haha .. i like ur analogy between cam swaps and engine swaps

but my car is by no means a race car .. its got full interior, a blasting sounds system and true street tires on it .. only reason i dont drive it is i cant afford to .. yah it guzzles gas like a sonofab*tch .. and the icbc rapes me up the bum over insurance for it ... and im a broke *** student who has 1 week left in school so once i get a decent paying job and pay some debts off .. it'll be fully insured and out more often dont worry

then we'll get our rat race to safeway

hell i could even do a quad4 motor swap in my beater and throw a turbo or a 75 shot on it and it'll be pushin 200 hp ..

edit: craig, milage went down the drain.. my milage was good too with my cc305 cam

Hmm, my mileage seemed to get a little better when I put the cc305 cam in my stock motor.

Did your mileage go down with the cc306 Payam?

In fact, I still get close to stock mileage with my current setup

with mph in the 150s ur ET should be in the low 9s .. not low 10s

That's the difference traction makes

I've never been able to figure out why, but whenever I can't get traction off the line (pretty much always ) the mph increases, but with a good launch ET goes down and mph goes down too... my highest mph was like 98.2 on a 14.6, for example.

Is this the same for you guys?

yup . its always like that

theres always heaty debates over this phenomenon (sp?)

when i put taller tires on my car (28") the car went about 3 mph slower and i was trapping 114 with 2.0 ish 60's .. then i launched her REAL hard .. spun the poor slicks so bad i got a 2.7 60' . mph went back upto 116.8
