car stereo help needed
Hey guys, my subs in my stereo system stopped working a few days ago. so i've looked for the usual wires which are loose etc but i cant find any, and my set up is so confusing, it just doesn't make sense to me. my set up in my old car was so much simpler. so i was just wondering if someone with some stereo knowledge could give me a hand, i will come to you of course and if it takes long (which i don’t think it will) i will be happy to work out a price with you.
i REALY need to fix this by wednesday morning as i am going away and i'm driving. so i'll prolly go insane if it doesn’t get fixed.
thanks heaps,
Mike

Re: car stereo help needed
is this stock system? what deck are you using? what amp? what subs? etc. post all info.
contact bunker, he needs some money
he may help tommorow evening and hes in your area.
what were you doing the last time they worked? were you blaring it? or was it the next day they werent working? make sure your subs are on if your deck has the option to turn em on or off. did you remove the battery and reinstall it?

Re: car stereo help needed
i'm using a kenwood cd player (quite an old one), an alpine amp, i think it was v1000 or something like that, and 2 10inch JL audio subs
last time they worked i was blarring it a little but not much more then usual. i think that it might have been the next day they didnt work, cus i didnt notice till then.
my deck doesnt have the option to turn the subs on or off, and i havent touched the battery lately.
any ideas?
thanks

Re: car stereo help needed
is your amp mounted or flopping around? check all the wires going out to the subs, also check the rca cables going out of the deck and to the amp. you say the amp turns on so the fuse must be fine. find someone with another amp and pulg it in, that way you can rule out the amp being toast. i have a few amps here, but try those first as i have a few things to do today.

Re: car stereo help needed
we got it fixed, or atleast figured out. some toothless mongloid must have set up the sound system before. his deck had rca outputs but the gap toothed yokel used one of those converters used on stock decks......needless to say that unit was kaput.
that whole system was a wiring nightmare, lol.
woja will just have to go out and buy some rca cables
