a few guys are running the 306 on stock heads but there are quite a few people who say it is way to big. but when i do get heads i would rather not do another cam swap.

man dont make that mistake .. cams are cheap .. cam swaps are easy ... put in a smaller cam to run with ur stock heads .. when u get ur ported heads,, get a cam that will MATCH THE HEADS ...

if u wanna do it right . take my word for it .. if u dont .. then do what u want.

look at armen .. he has a pretty big cam in his car ... and runs slower mph and ET than i did when i had a CC305 in with my stock heads ... his car made 6 more rwhp and trust me .. my cam was a LOT nicer to drive around town with than his

my CC305 made very good power to 6500 .. armens car fell FLAT on its face after 6000 ... ask him how much hp he made at 6500

you might say .. why would u wanna rev that high if u can make power down low ?? gearing .. thats how ricers do it .. high rev and low gears .. if u can rev high and make power .. u put a set of 4.10s in the back and ur flying .. but then again .. what do i know

im done with my advice .. take it as u wish

Dude! GM 847 is bigger then a cc306, it's 234/242 I belive. My cam is big but not that big and i'm still pleased with it. It may not perform very well at the track but it's a street machine! It's not even just the durration and lift numbers that you only think of, different brands, lobe style, you really need to figure out what your going to be doing with your car and what it's purpose is going to be. (Track, street, daily driver)

I really recommend you do some research other then asking people on the board how there cams sound or feel. Search the web or even hit up the library and if anyone calls you a geek about it you can call them slow.

I will keep reading up before i decide i just want other peoples opinion on what they think. There are quite a few people running the 306 and the 847 on stock heads and dont really seem to have any problems but people still say they are to big. i would just rater not pull my car apart twice but i'll take your advie and keep looking around and reading up in my books and magazines.

Well Payam, I guess it was just cuz I've been too lazy, and you've been too busy (with the whole accident and all), so i didn;t wanna bug ya this summer. Anywayz, and I also see no point in putting it in now before the winter.

Lastly, I'm thinking of selling my car in the spring, if I get too much in the car, ppl might think I abuse her.

The choice isn't very difficult. With all the different cams there are available they will all give you nearly the same hp #'s. So why not choose a milder cam like the CC305. It doesn't effect gas mileage or drivablity and it isn't hard on your valvetrain components.

You can't go wrong with the hotcam or the 305. Looking back on it now, I wish I put in a cam slightly larger cam than the 305 since I put ported heads on at the same time. I also bought it all brand new, each as a seperate part, so it would have been more cost affective to buy the hotcam kit instead.
