Brakes... Do I ever need 'em!!
Brakes... Do I ever need 'em!!
Hey guys, I've noticed a few of you have gotten new brakes recently, and the shimming and shaking upon braking has lead me to believe I do too
Not to mention the fact that they are the orginal rotors, and the pads were changed back in the summer of 98... So i'm going to bite the bullet and get some new brakes all around...
While I would of REALLY liked to step up to the corvette hardware, I can't afford new wheels/tires (at least a grand or so) so I'm just going to get some brakes that will fit my stock wheels.
I like the idea of a package deal, so Thunder Racing's Brake setup seems great... It runs 576 bucks US tho, so thats like a grand Canadian by the time it lands
It comes with 4 Powerslot Rotors, 4 Hawk Pads and Stainless steel brake lines for the front and rear...
I'm wondering how much you guys paid for your setups and where did you get them? Lordco I think I seen some mention... I'm not looking for outstanding quality as these arn't meant to be a really high performing brake setup. Just something to last a few years with mild use until I step up to larger wheels to accomodate bigger brake hardware...
Thanks,
Jeff

LS1 Brake Pics
the last 2 pics, and the next 2 pics on the next page...
Hey guys, here is a deal i'm working with a guy, 150 US + shipping for the 2 front rotors, spindles and calipers... So then I just need Pads?
Also, based on those pictures, anything you see that would warn you off from these? I realize that brakes get rusty looking pretty quick anyways, so a picture can't really tell the full story...
They are off a 98 WS6 supposedly, and have close 60,000 miles...
Thanks!!
